The government should pay, NOT THE TAXPAYERS, they spend lots of money helping other countries, now it's time to help the U.S. citizens. And not use our taxes or charge us for it.

Government has no money, ever, it is always tax payers money, unless they print money which creates inflation which always hurts the poorest people. Free stuff for the people sounds nice, but socialism has not worked anywhere in 100 years. It creates more takers than contributors.

Possible solutions include the Gov't pays, decrease real property values, reform HR, wages, redo Rental Agreements or We CAN... The definition of a truly Great Generation is the ability and willingness to change established rules and regulations in consideration of people over profit.

If some people don't get help, they will just end up homeless, and it will cost taxpayers one way or the other to fix the problems.

It is our responsibility to provide housing for all not just some.

We don't live in a socialist country. If people start relying on hand outs (unless they have a reason to like being disabled or being elderly) they will never get anyplace.

No. I am sorry but Socialism has never worked. If someone is unable to live in a certain area they need to move. Taxpayers should not have to subsidize someone's rent so they can enjoy a certain lifestyle in an unaffordable area.

No, after moving every 2-4 years, lived in 9 states and 3 of those states multiple times the last thing on your mind is the energy score. If in doubt and you have the option of waiting, ask for one.

Another bureaucratic over reach to fit their agenda with no consideration for the consequences, cost, etc.

This extra cost will be more than just the cost of a score; the City of Bend will charge a filing fee with the City to track these scores and the ECC committee knows it won't make a difference with climate goals because owners aren't required to do any updates - YET.

Buyers can have one done, at their own expense, just like a home inspection, as part of their purchase if they want one. Why does the seller have to pay unless the city's purpose is to force sellers to spend money for improvements they will not benefit from? Let the party who will benefit pay.

Dumb to require it. When people are bidding on houses and paying $70k over asking, the energy score is the last thing they consider. It should be a voluntary, ask if you want it, basis.
