2 reasons. I live in Phoenix, Az. I think it was only 106 degrees today, do I have the a/c on…yes. My cat is SO allergic to everything. Veterinarian says to keep windows closed. I love my little girl. Open windows and everything that blows in with it would make her suffer.

If it's going to cool down overnight and isn't going to rain, then opening up the windows is the way to go. Otherwise, AC is the summertime companion to winter heating.

I live in Ireland and have yet to see an air conditioner, except in the posh hotels for tourists. It's fresh air and green for me.
