They are not useful for hunting, which means ownership of an assault weapon is only for collecting and showing off or to be used as a weapon.

The AR-15 platform is a very popular hunting rifle, and being ignorant of the facts does not make it an assault rifle. Education is required to understand this, you don't have that education.

How do you define an assault weapon? Guns that look scary? This call to ban assault weapons is just the first step towards a total gun confiscation. Fear the government that fears your gun!! The Democrats are just a few steps away from being full blown communists. Something is rotten folks!!

But AR-15 rifles are not assault rifles. Citizen can own a fully automatic machine gun legally, but they must possess the required Federal Permit, which costs $200 per year. Knowledge is key.

Why does anyone NEED an assault rifle? To assault? To kill? No need at all for them. I'm all for a rifle and deer hunting. Having a handgun by your bed for defense. But an assault rifle is pointless.

First, assault weapon is an incorrect term, they are Armalite Rifles. Assault weapons are guns that can be selected to full automatic, the firearms in question can not do that. It is lies, smoke and mirrors to call these firearms, assault weapons. Adolf Hitler did the same thing in 1939.

I feel that if the 2nd amendment is judged and limited, we will go down the path the 1st has- we are judging what speech is and is not okay in public forums, large media is allowed to silence what they don't like, etc. Stop and reflect on how you feel about any and all freedoms. What will be next?
