I've personally always liked the costume (especially during the sections with the raised visors). Either way, it's iconic and I feel the point of this film is to bring back THOSE VERSIONS and not too heavily alter them to the point they feel like a new version, played by the same actor.

Disney is all about repackaging without talent or good scripting. Look at Rise of Skywalker.

Yes but a variation of it hopefully with more purple and a new glider.

The whole point of bringing him back is Nostalgia. Not to mention he died before he came up with a new one, so it wouldn't make sense if he had a better costume Out of Nowhere.
