Commented "It subscribes to the old sequel school of just being the first movie again, but bigger! However, in the case of Deadpool 2, I just found the jokes to be funnier."
Commented "The Mandalorian is alright, and The Book of Boba Fett is fun shlock that I find enjoyment in as a guilty pleasure. Even though I like WandaVision and Hawkeye well enough, Marvel’s lineup of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and What If…? is a goddam RAP sheet."
Commented "There’s a formula at play in these Disney+ shows, but it’s apparent Feige and co. aren’t as experienced with TV as they are with film. These feel like films that have been extended and awkwardly restructured for the TV miniseries format. They also feel disposable which betrays their “big” nature."
Commented "Batman & Robin may follow the structure laid by Forever (which was itself following Returns’ absent structure), but Schumacher’s second Bat-flick is the only 90’s Batman sequel that has an identifiable central plot."
Commented "Gah! This is a tough one since I watched both of these all the time with my grandparents, but I gotta go with Jeopardy! Wheel of Fortune regularly drifts into one contestant dominating the episode, and that’s less entertaining to watch for me."
Commented "Haha! He points out the thing you noticed! Isn’t that hilarious? No. No, that’s not.
Seriously, in a world where Grant Morrison writes comics, Wes Craven made 4 Scream movies, and Phil Lord & Chris Miller exist; HOW could anybody settle for Deadpool?"
Commented "It’s really a toss-up for me. I love both of them, but I always admired Gene’s desire to champion comedy, musicals, and other “light” entertainment for his best-of-year lists.
A staunch thumbs-down for Apocalypse Now? HOW?! But Wayne’s World making best of 1992 is a total power move!"
Commented "The constant break of the status quo at the start of a new run, only for it to return to the status quo by the end. It’s tiring, and feels desperate."
