Improvement on the State's highways is not about raising taxes to get it done. It is about ODOT making appropriate decisions, good engineering, adequate project research and construction management.

I don't know your Oregon history, regarding ODOT projects but Wickiup is not the first project to face Geo-technical anomalies that effect structural integrity.

The US Hwy 20 improvement project near Eddyville was seriously delayed due to insufficient geologic surveys during the entire pre-design stages of the turn-key project.

One difference is ODOT did not give up, but the saw the project to its finish......It appears ODOT is abandoning Wickiup improvement and is satisfied with menial improvements to fix project failure

No, not worth it.

The State has poor spending priorities and efficiency. If those two things were fixed, construction would be getting done quicker without a tax raise.

Absolutely not! Bend's high property tax rate is exorbitant as it is. I vote no for any tax increase, especially for schools, as they get the bulk of our taxes as it is. Govt needs better money mgrs

Why should taxpayers pay more for politicians & DOT lousy planning; state revenue is on the rise & could also be allocated from other sources

ODOT needs to contract with better road construction companies, set deadlines, impose huge fines when deadline not met!

NO! We pay too many taxes as it is. I think there is gross mismanagement of the state budget when every little project that comes along, they ask for more taxpayer money.

I would NOT pay more. Bend planning can't seem to plan any farther into the future beyond next Tuesday. The parkway should have been at least 4 lanes each direction to plan for population and growth .

Our taxes are going to be raised by the state govt for schools and PERS, which is pathetic, so no more taxes!!!!

When I see ODOT workers actually working and not leaning on their shovels and "shooting the breeze" with each other perhaps I may change my mind.

project timelines should be negotiated prior to final agreement and signing. Timelines should be motivated by payment penalties for missed project timelines by the contractor. Private sector rules!

"Death by taxation" should be the Oregon state quote.

I did not say it was not worth it , I feel we pay enough in gas tax, property tax, incometax, visitor tax, vehical registrtion tax and other hidden taxes.

Is this some kind of a joke? Spend 1 day driving around Portland or any other major city and 97 then becomes a nice country drive!!!!

The City brings in millions in taxes from MJ for both recreational and medical use. That money would pay for it twice over if not more. Use that money to get it done.

They should have routed the bypass completely around bend and Redmond in the 1st place instead of running them thru the middle of town. Hence forth,, by pass!!!

Many of my students display addictive behaviors regarding their phones, and it has proven detrimental to their learning and social development. Any positive of cell phone use is vastly outweighed by negative consequences.

Long overdue. Students need to focus on being educated in school, not watching videos, playing games, & chatting with each other. Educators and others do not need the distraction that cell cause. If there are emergencies that students need to know about there are other ways for them to find out.

Kids are way too addicted to their phones and it is affecting their learning. Phones could be kept in a basket in the classroom in case of emergency, but definitely NOT with the kid.

My teaching friends say it's been a battle to keep kids off their phones in class and wastes a bunch of class time time addressing this. How will this be enforced any differently though?

There are times that they shouldn't have them but check them at the door of class rooms to cut back on the use. Emergencies do happen and cells are useful
