It is awful when you feel obligated to tip, even if no actual service is provided. The whole machine tip deal needs to end! I only tip with cash!

I dislike being "guilted" into leaving a tip if it is not applicable.

If you don't provide a service like serving the food in a restaurant you shouldn't get tipped! Let people decide IF they want to tip, trying to force them by setting the % is counter productive and shameful trying to make the customer feel bad!

Tips are regarded for the service that is provided to the customer not because you had a server. It starts from the time you arrive until the time you finish your visit. Greeting, table, silverware, dishes, cups, food ordered, food received, temperature of food, quality of food. etc.

Tipping was for good service. Now it's expected no matter what. Now you have to manually change tipping options when you order online. Why should I tip then? They are doing nothing.

I tip depending on how good the service is.

I will tip generously for excellent food and table service. Neither of which can be found at most places in Bend these days. 15% has always been the standard, more for outstanding performance. Tipping for drive through or take out, no.

Drive throughs and places where you're just picking up a to go order shouldn't be asking for a tip. I tip waiters, or my hairdresser for a SERVICE preformed. Tips shouldn't be considered part of a persons hourly wage.

Businesses are actually being hurt by extorting customers for tips, making it less likely for some customers to return. Why not just include a flat service fee on the bill included in the price quoted in advance? Many restaurants are taking that route to ensure their servers receive a fair tip.

Get rid of tipping. Pay your staff enough that they don't need to get tips

Leaving tips is just a way that the corporations can lessen the employees pay and use the tips as part of their hourly wage! Giving the corporate more money in their pockets and a way out for not paying their hard working employees the full amount of their earnings! Taxes take out way too much now!

It is very awkward, especially when tips screen comes up in a non service type of business. Tips should be on service received at a restaurant, not a pizza place for example. I mean tipping when you just ordered something is absurd,

I base my tip on the service I receive and don't appreciate being guilted into tipping for bad service.

He was a racist, white supremacist, and very divisive figure. The political violence that ended his lift is a terrible thing but it’s something he helped foment. This is the most ridiculous idea I can imagine.

I never heard of this guy before he was murdered, but it looks like he had a track record of saying awful things, and fomented the conditions in society that led to his demise. That's very tragic, but there are other people more deserving of a day.

Irony: “It's worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year, so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights…” Charlie Kirk 2023

Though this is a tragic incident and a terrible time of violence in our country, Mr. Kirk was not an elected official. We should honor his family and respect them in many ways and I certainly have sympathy for his family. But this does not warrant aday in Oregon devoted to his name or his politics.

A highly partisan figure in American politics should never be given a day of observance for any reason. It should be acknowledge that violence is not acceptable in any form for any reason, but it should not be honored and given Publicity because of it.

He was not a government figure, and while I don’t condone the violence that took his life, he called on his supporters to bail out others that committed violence against elected government officials.

This guy was homophobic, racist, and anti women’s rights. While I think his murder is wrong, he is not a hero. He encouraged hatred towards people he didn’t agree with their lifestyles in his “teachings”. I don’t think Jesus would support him…he preached love for everyone!

We didn't create a Melissa Hortmann day and she was a good person. Charlie Kirk's rhetoric was about racism, sexism, mysoginism, and divisiveness. He was not a good person and represented everything that was NOT Christian.

Sure! Let's give kudos to the shooter! NOT! What about the 5 officers who just got shot in Pennsylvania? Should we have a day for that too?? Absolutely NOT necessary.
