TCU's defense sucks ... NU HAS a physical and fast defense .... that'll be the difference in this game ... we'll pound the rock on them and Sims will throw more short and quick passes so I say 27-23 NU
ReplyCollege ball still emotional. Colorado coming off big win over a questionable defense, NU coming off winnable loss against good defense and a better offense than is being talked about. GBR
ReplyIf we play good defense and run the football with controlling the clock we should come out with a victory!
ReplyI would like to believe that our D can come up big and keep their playmakers from gashing us. If we can get pressure on their QB I think we stand a good chance. Our run game should be able to churn clock and keep the ball out of their hands.
ReplyThere was no D in the CU-TCU game. I see our D standing up. Only question will turnovers/penalties get us again. GBR
ReplyGame 2 and Colorado will be very cocky beating a very overrated TCU. Our defense in all essence is much stronger than TCU.
ReplyHuskers learn from 1st game and execute fundamentals better. Will up the run game against a porous D line and burn clock.

ReplyIn all fairness, Deion's room won't be at Colorado if they hit in the 9 win room this year. So there's that....room.
Coaching room changes but the game results room never changes. That means that the team room is the problem. No talent. Until the talent room changes the results room is always going to be the same......room.
When did room replace the letter s? RBs, TEs, QBs. RB room. TE room. QB room. OL room. Kicking room.....room room.
Buffs by 4TDs, after watching the Minnesota game and lack of offense and our Quarterback play, I don’t see a bowl game in our near future.
ReplyOur offense just isn't ready yet. The defense might keep it from being a blowout. 31 - 17 Buffs...
ReplyTheir offense vs. our defense is going to score more points than our offense vs. their defense.
ReplyNot sure about that so I say using that logic it’s a tossup, though who would have thought Prime’s approach would work so quickly. Very interesting experiment.
We are thin everywhere and nearly one-dimensional on offense. Hartzog got beat badly on Minnesota's 4th down TD. Speed kills. CU wins, just because we're Nebraska.
ReplyHuskers look like the same anemic self. Not sure how we overcome the 20+ years of dilution. Buffs will trounce us.
ReplyIf Sims is Quarterback NU will lose! If Ruhle doesnt make changes we will not win 6 games and we will not go to bowl game!
ReplyFirst game we showed we still snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and so I do not expect anything different until they prove different, Buffs by 14
ReplyNothing I saw from the Huskers show that they can beat what the Buffs had on the field
ReplyI watched Colorado / TCU. Colorado has way too much talent, and speed. QB and receivers are out of this world. Colorado Defense is suspect which leads to Nebraska's only hope. Colorado by 30.
ReplyEven if the defense plays a good game and keeps the score close, the offense will blow it somehow. CU 34, NU 16
ReplyThe Husker offense is currently a hot mess. They will not be able to outscore the Buffs.
ReplyBecause I have never liked this alternate Uniform thing from the beginning. We have not only looked silly, but, have been distracted by it. I wish I knew how many games we won or lost with this. I hope the team doesn't even pay attention to it.

ReplyIt's a tip of the cap to a historical event and the addition of a message to the varsity stripes that should stay. They won't sell a lot of them but it's a respectful way to do what they set out to do. On the 100th anniversary is it a bad ting to remind people that we are a classic, not gimmick.
ReplyNEB fans complain when /// does too much. Now complain when keeps things simple. Lets get ready and join up with Jordan Brand in 2028 then.
ReplyThese are great. A subtle twist on our classic look. And MUCH better than the all black/all red/all white/all puke alternative unis!
ReplyThe uniform represents a constant like the loyalty of Nebraska Fans. The words on the sleeves are sacred to true Husker fans. The 76% are more worried about style than substance. GBR

ReplyI hate stupid alternate jerseys. This one is way less stupid than all the past alternates.
ReplyI would like to see these as our permanent uniforms. I think they are more lively than all red tops. Have not been too thrilled about the crazy alternatives of the past that takes us too far from our identity.
ReplyWhen the alternative uniform changes are so subtle that you have to point them out for people to notice, you have failed.

ReplyBlue outline is too thin. Will not be able to see it. Would have liked to see all blue uniform to commemorate Memorial Stadium's centennial.
ReplyWaste of time. If the alterations to the uniform are going to be this simple and this boring, then lets keep our normal uniforms. No recruit is getting excited about these. No person besides true Husker fans could tell you what's different or unique. I doubt the current players are impressed either
ReplyOnly difference I see is a thin blue line around the #'s. What creative genius came up with that!
ReplyDoesn't do anything for me. They pretty much look like the standard uniform, especially from more than 20 ft away.
ReplyI understand the blue outline of the letters, but I kind of feel we should've gone all Blue, like in the first ever home game at Memorial Stadium, this just seems like 1/16th of an effort.
ReplyIt’s lame and fans in the seats or watching on TV won’t even notice … wear a blue jersey!

He needs to start this week for sure. Make it a true competition going into Michigan and set ourselves up to win the most of our BIG10 schedule as possible.
ReplyPretty Obvious. Great defense. He's physically crushing people. He's accurate. Takes care of the ball. Motivates team. Everyone is locked into him. I could keep going....
ReplyHe is more consistent in his decision making.
ReplyProven to take better care of football
Replyi have eyes and am a sentient being
ReplySeemed to have managed the last game with confidence and should get better as time goes on!
ReplySimple. He doesn't turn it over!
ReplyHe shows better decision making. Bigger in size. Driven to perform. Less turnovers and he has a longer future at NU.
ReplyHe needs more time playing this position in game situations. I do think both should play get the rust off of Sims and give him confidence going into Michigan.
ReplyHigh ankle sprain versus LA Tech. If Sims is going to be Rhule's guy, he needs to be healthy for Big 10 play. Let Haarberg get the experience while Sims heals.
ReplyI love both QBs but must vote for Heinrich as he played lights out and with the so needed clean play protecting the ball. I do believe we can win also with Jeff and our players would have to just follow him looking for the ball coming loose. We can do that too. It's a team.
ReplyBackup QB is always the most popular player on the team, but in this case it makes sense. He's performed, Sims hasn't
ReplyHaarberg is not turnover prone.
ReplyGreat applebee doesn't turn the ball over
ReplyTurnovers
ReplyHe has a quarterback, mentality, poised, and decisive!
ReplyHarberg reminds me so much of Brooke Berringer. A journeyman QB
Replynot turning to ball over is VERY important. Although HH had a couple passes that were probably ill advised we were able to come out on top.
ReplyHaarberg has the hot hand now, but won't last long if he continues to take unnecessary hits when running. They'll need both QBs throughout the season.
ReplyWe need steadiness more than talent. Inconsistent play & turnovers at QB have cost us countless games 8 years+,
ReplyI would move Sims to receiver, use his skills there. Haarberg looks to be a good fit at QB and will get better with more reps.
ReplyHe didn't turnover the ball
ReplyHe is a better game manager which is what we need right now.
ReplyNEEDS to play better taking care football, faster, reads receivers, just what QB should be. Ron
ReplySIMS IS FREAKING HORRIBLE!!
