Will Nebraska crack the AP Top 25 next week after hosting Maryland on Saturday?

I don’t expect too many voters to be impressed by a win over a team who lost 54-3 to UCLA last week. Maybe next week, they can prove that they deserve to be ranked. Votes will follow the proof.

Yes, they'd be 5-0 but wouldn't have played any team with any real substance. Beat Indiana or Oregon, then they should be ranked, and would have earned it.

Not enough competition so far

After that first half, even I a solid Husker fan, wouldn't blame the pollsters. But it all works for the best, keeps the team hungry. However if they beat Indiana we will be hard to ignore.

Why is being ranked so important, especially playing a cupcake schedule like we have, if we can beat Indiana, then we DESERVE to be ranked, until then stop talking about it.

I hope not. I don't care if we smoke em. We should not be ranked until we beat a ranked team. Every time we get ranked we get beat the following week. Beat Indiana and then the rank will be deserved.

Ranking won't happen until after we play Indiana. Even if we lose, but lose a really close game and look good doing it...then even a loss would get us ranked next week

Nebraska hasn't played anyone yet. Their strength of schedule is 122 and will be worse after the Maryland game. I predict that by the end of November we'll know where Nebraska ends up on the season.
