Continued mistrust of government's motives and their neglect to uphold our laws and lack of support for our constitution and bill of rights.

Definitely more divided. With how much legacy media lies and stirs people up with fake info, I'm not surprised. I can't wait until legacy media gets canceled and we can start having conversations again.

I am looking forward to the 2022 midterms when Republicans take the House and Senate. I hope they have no mercy on the evil and corruption in our current government. The democrat rats are leaving the sinking ship by the dozens.

The Democrat polling numbers are sinking like a rock every day that Biden is in office. I say it will be a landslide for the Rs.

Because the GOP leaning folks tend to invent their own reality when logic, reason, and science disagrees with their demagoguery.

Lets be clear it was definitely NOT an insurrection or coup attempt! And why are the 500 plus riots in Portland, Seattle and other big cities, investigated and tired and jailed for burning police stations and so much more, they were slapped on the hand and let go! Antifa was Was parrt of D C riots.

If there's any doubt about how divided we are, read some of the claims in this forum then compare them to facts.

We have a party system. We will always be divided as long as we stay with our current government system. And as Americans we are too stupid amongst ourselves to overlook differences.

What a question. Of course, the country has become more divided because some really ignorant, and just plain stupid individuals who believe the bullshit put out by T. This country is deeply in peril and those who support his lies do not even realize what they are doing to contribute to it.

Service fee

Does tipping encourage better customer service? Cornell University study found only a weak correlation. Happier servers provide better service. A livable wage (no, $15/hour is not livable in Bend!) with reasonable health and other benefits would make servers & patrons happiest.

I prefer to tip based on service given. Bad service No Tip! Very simple! Good service, gets tip! Great service, Big tip!

This way I have control over how much I want to compensate the server for good service or the lack thereof.

Tipping is based on attitude and job done. Some deserve more than others. I will not go to a restaurant with a Service fee.

Well, I agree with the previous comments, but also, we would need to know the amount of said "fee" before having sufficient information to weigh in with an informed opinion.

In my opinion tipping encourages employees to give their best service. In some areas a good waitress can make a few hundred dollars a day.

Pay people what they deserve. A tip is for good service. It's above and extra. I'm not paying extra for poor service.

Keep the tip. A service fee is no different than raising the price of the meal. Tips are to reward staff for a job well done and for incentive. A motivated employee would make a lower wage without tipping.

The term TIP came from To Improve Performance. (And it was voluntary, NOT mandatory). The better the service was, the bigger the TIP. The servers knew this and strived for it. A service fee provides no incentive. I will not go to places that have a service fee or automatically add on a gratuity.

NO, it should be based on the level of service received, a service fee would limit good servers big tips and lower their income and incentive to give good service.

To me tipping is a way of recognizing and rewarding good service. I would not go to a service fee establishment.
