You have to look at input versus output, and then compare to other program averages. Recruit rankings are modest at Iowa, but NFL production ranks high. Also, you have to pay ppl more than what their actually worth in order to keep them at Iowa. Good move.

1) Nobody on the staff is around the players more than Doyle. 2) NFL Former Hawks return home to train in IC because of this man and his regimen. 3) He's been there for 18 years. 4) Player development is Iowa's bread and butter. We're turning walk ons into NFL stars. That begins with S&C.

Player development is critical to Iowa's success. The Hawks get mostly two-star and three-star recruits that the staff develops and molds into teams that are competitive with five-star teams.

First off, forget the idiots who started this on ESPN. The question is, where would the Iowa program be *without* Mr. Doyle and his program. ISU, that's what. I'm pro-capitalist, and whatever the market will bear, so be it. If anything, he's probably under paid.

This translates into less injuries and more stamina!

he is a huge part of Iowa success, and helps put Hawks that are not 4 Star recruits on the field in the Big Ten, and then on to the NFL. He is, for sure , worth it!

Coach Doyle would get paid that and then some if he were to ever leave. He is one of the main reasons Iowa has been able to have the success they have had with the level of recruits they can attract. Nothing but respect for Coach Doyle and I hope he stays another 20 years!

Doyle is much more than simply a strength and conditioning coach. He's essentially an Associate Head Coach...he plays a big role in molding these young men in all facets of their lives. "Experts" outside the Iowa program wouldn't know that...or understand it, as most programs don't have such a guy.

Because of who he has to work with. Lets face it, he doesn't see the 5 and 4 star recruits. I am surprised he hasn't been hired away years ago.

Because he turn 2-stars and walk-ons into draft picks. Because slow tight ends become all-conference tackles. Because Iowa has reputation of hard-nosed and physical. Because that last drive in the B1G championship game is actually the reason. Who's heard of 9 minute drives?!!! And D Howard is a putz

What is too much? for somebody on the same job for 18 years. There have been multiple performance bonuses as well as cost of living. Iowa cannot consistently keep up with the Joneses (Bama, tOSU, etc) when it comes to recruiting. That means building em up and coaching em up. Nuff said

he's proven his worth

He is one huge reason Iowa can bring in players that are not ready to play D-1 football and he takes one player at a time and takes them to the strength and healthy way to get more out of players than any other coach has/can. He deserves every nickel he is paid!

RESULTS

All you have to do is listen to/read what his former players have to say about him and you can tell what he means to them and to the program. Iowa makes the most out of the young men they get and Coach Doyle is a big part of that.

He deserves it. In fact, I think this position should be closer to what Doyle makes than it is currently. These strength/conditioning coaches work with these athletes more than any other coach and how they prepare them in the weight room makes a huge difference on the field.

Coach Doyle is good at his job and keeping players conditioned for the game.

wide recievers in the nfl are a dime a dozen...mcnutt was good but couldnt make an impact in the nfl....brandon sherff went to ol and was a top 5 pick....so moving from qb to wr is different than moving from qb to ol.....if ferentz wants sees you as a lineman you go for sure
