Only professionals with experience should get paid. All on the current council are basically activists with their own personal agenda, none of them has experience and it shows at what they're spending our tax $$ on! If it's to much work they volunteered for then get more council members to join

No. They make decisions based on their personal agendas without a vote of the people. There's to much spending and property tax increases already without boosting their salaries. They passed an unnecessary environmental impact home inspection without the vote of citizens.

Wrong, they vote for what the majority of Bend citizens want. You just aren't the majority.

No. I don't want my taxes going up anymore to pay for it and they make decisions based on their personal agendas without a vote of the people. The ridiculous environmental impact home inspection is a prime example. They are supposed to serve not reign. Totalitarian attitude.

As someone on disability finding affordable housing is one of the most difficult things I face in columbia.

If one drives virtually anywhere in Columbia you will see numerous people at intersections with signs requesting help. My wife works in mental health and she is inundated with people coming in for assistance. Ask anyone working in the mental health field & they will tell you the same thing.

The property owners, are being inundated with tax increases, and higher costs, to maintain the properties, too. The government, is doing nothing to help them.

If you want to see what happens when government decides to help the homeless with your tax money, take a look at California. Disguise it with 'affordable housing', and steal billions of tax dollars. Then keep raising taxes to 'help' those who have no desire to help themselves.

Deschutes County has enough of these resorts using up natural resources. They don't help our housing shortage. These houses are second and third vacation homes for non-residents who benefit from tax breaks.

Wyman Yes. These "Resort Communities" become nothing more than a 2nd home refuge for wealthy out-of-state residents. Their wealth adds little to the local economy, other than higher home prices for county residents. As they say in South County - "Don't Bend La Pine".

Central Oregon is running out of water. Houses should be for full time residents not wealthy vacation rentals and second vacation homes.
