Iowa fans had enough of Kirk Ferentz and wanted him gone before the season started. The Hawkeyes were coming off a season where they lost all their trophy games and were humiliated in the TaxSlayer Bowl game against Tennessee. All of a sudden they started winning in 2015. Against Pitt, Marshall Koehn kicked a 57 yard field goal to win it. They forced four turnovers to beat No. 19 Wisconsin in Madison. Their 3rd string RB Akrum Wadley racked up the yards and TDs as they crushed No. 20 Northwestern. And the wins just kept rolling on their way to perfection. Show Less

12-0 is 12-0. Something Iowa hadn't ever done before or seen coming. Iowa winning the last 3 games may be surprising but it shouldn't have been completely unexpected since we all thought they should have been capable of it before the season. Nobody thought 12-0 was remotely possible before last yr.

You have to remember where Iowa football was going into the 2015 season. A lot, and I mean a LOT of long-time alumni had given up their season tickets. The stack of complaint letters and such to Barta were staggering. NOBODY saw 12-0 coming. This year, it is only what we had expected all season.

While the Hawkeyes kept it close against a Top 10 Badgers team, they followed it up with one of the worst losses under Ferentz. The "Fire Kirk" chants escalated. No. 3 Michigan was up next, who was avg. 48 PPG. It was expected they would get pummeled yet again. Instead they kicked a last second FG for a huge upset of the Wolverines. Then Iowa dominated for a 28-0 win on the road against Illinois. The final game was vs. No. 16 Nebraska who they ran over 40-10, vaulting Iowa into the Top 25 to finish the year. Everyone wrote them off. They proved why that was a mistake. Show Less

THEY PLAYED PRETTY BAD IN THOSE LOSSES BUT TO BEAT MICHIGAN THEM DOMINATING NEBRASKA I TRULY THINK WE COULD COMPETE AGAINST OHIOSTATE AND WIN ON THE SHOULDERS OF THE DEFENSE

The Iowa defense looks hungry again and will continue the next two weeks and dominate Illinois and Nebraska at the point of attack making them one-dimensional.

The offense is still very suspect, so it will be tough for them to hang with Nebraska. And, Illinois is setting up to be a trap game after the big, emotional win over Michigan and Nebraska following. Even if they do win out, you wonder with their lack of offense and getting crushed in the Rose Bowl last year will carry any consequences. Show Less
