It’s something different compared to the traditional 11 a.m. Saturday kickoff. A Friday game gives Iowa an opportunity to play a September game under the lights, and gives the Hawks more exposure considering they’ll be one of the few games played on a Friday night. Show Less

This would hurt Iowa high school football. Iowa football (outside of bowl games and the day after Tgiving) has always been played on Saturday's. Keep it that way.

Davis has always been wildly inconsistent during his time at Iowa. Sure, he has the ability to call a well-rounded game, but most of the time he is too predictable. Inconsis... Show More

Davis has always been wildly inconsistent during his time at Iowa. Sure, he has the ability to call a well-rounded game, but most of the time he is too predictable. Inconsistency is evident this season: 42 vs. ISU then 21 against FCS-ND State, 14 at Rutgers, 31 vs. Northwestern, 14 again at Minnesota, 49 at Purdue, 9 vs. Wisconsin. As the season goes on, the Hawkeyes are switching between scoring little to big every other game. That's the model of inconsistency. Despite having inexperience at WR, Davis should try some other things to try and get them separation. Show Less

Why can other teams adjust the offense and replace wide receivers at a much more efficient rate than iowa.

I am typically not into the blame game. GD is responsible for the effectiveness of the offense...he is the coordinator. After several years of relatively weak offensive production, it is time for a change, regardless of where you want to place the blame. Don't blame, fix.

The blame isn't OC Davis, the blame is Kirk Ferentz. We all blamed O'Keefe too, but the single common denominator of the consistent terrible offense is the HC.

Not only do i blame coach Davis but WR coach Kennedy. They both need to put more wrinkles and coach better techniques for WR's to get open. The main thing I feel would be do better recruiting. The WR position for the hawks has been terrible over the years. Get better talent and coach them better.

We're two thirds of the way through the season. Inexperienced players is no longer a viable excuse. And, Iowa's offense hasn't been explosive in years regardless of personnel. In the end however, the lack of creativity, and, ultimately success falls on Ferentz.

The Hawkeyes are inexperienced in the wide receiver department. Much was expected from players like Jay Scheel and Jerminic Smith, but they have so far have struggled to get separation. The inexperience and failure to get separation was evident even when top receiver Matt VandeBerg played before being injured. Greg Davis can only do so much. They can practice until they are blue in the face, but it's up to the players to execute. Show Less

The word "commit" is not just a throw away word. The recruit should weigh all their options and not be so quick to rush to a decision if they aren't totally sold on a school. Once you make that decision, you should stick by it and be true to the school you committed to. It all comes back to loyalty and when you continue to look elsewhere, what does that say about that person? Show Less

Recruiting must stay withing the controls of the NCAA and College Football Coaches... If the recruits are allowed to start dictating the process then the system becomes broken.

Iowa just lost a 4-star recruit. That kind of talent doesn't always make it's way to Iowa City, so they need to capitalize when they get it. Not to mention Eno Benjamin was instrumental in getting a few additional recruits to Iowa and that could cause a trickle-down effect. Our loss is someone else's gain and it might just come at the hands of another Big Ten opponent. Get rid of the outdated policy. Show Less

This kid is a big talent and he helped us get other big talent! If looking around is so bad, why are we looking at kids that have committed to other schools? Doesn't make sense to turn down that kind of talent when it's so hard to find!!!!

If Eno was a "lean Iowa" or a "soft commit" or a "silent commit" he could have visited other schools without issue, but because he was "committed" he wasn't? It just doesnt make sense. These are 17 year old kids.

Iowa has a policy against their commits visiting elsewhere, but are more than willing to keep recruiting and will have visits from commits to other schools. I am sure this has happened before, this case is just the highest profiled instance. Which is it Iowa? Make a change.

No commitment should be considered 'solid' until the paper is signed. Let him look. If Iowa's staff/facilities are as good as advertised, the recruit will gravitate back.
