My concern comes not from the survey itself, but from who was hired to do the survey. Why would you hire a local company, with clear and distinct conflicts of interest, to conduct the survey, instead of using an out of state impartial company? This reeks of a witch hunt.

Kind of makes me wonder why. I like coach Riley and since he was hired by the AD, I do not want to see the AD get fired. I think this could hurt the football program.

After the debacle at his previous School, Ole Miss, which is fighting NCAA problems throughout their Athletic Program, our new President doesn't seen to know what to look for anyway. Is this BECAUSE he blew it at Ole Miss? Will he be determined to find something?

you would think that any, and all big money making businesses take a look at their house to keep it in order. what can we do here to make it better, what we do there to make it better, i think it's just SOP!

Businesses (and the military) do this all the time. New guy in charge shows up, he does a survey/review to figure out what things are like. Not saying something "bad" couldn't come of it, but definitely standard procedure.

It can be a good thing. But it depends on the criteria. What is the goal? Who sets the standards?

I've followed recruiting for over 15 years and I've never seen this much excitement by high level talent this early on the year. I get the feeling things are going to steamroll a bit this year.

Cuz the Huskers are getting recruits that in past years they wouldn't have a chance to get. The recruiting seems to b getting better!

When you have 4 and 5 star players with N in their top 5 it is progress. We do need to land more however but this is a start.

For offensive skill players, it has. For the offensive line, it is somewhat improved. However, defensive line recruiting is still a big concern, though linebacker and secondary recruiting seems good.

Nebraska beat out Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and USC for Keyshawn after getting Patrick O'Brien. They're competing head-to-head with top programs and not coming in second or worse.

We are now focusing on the best players the country (though we can't expect to win the majority) and that is refreshing.

Last I checked you need defensive linemen to play football. Haven't landed a d-tackle for a bit and only one 3 star d-end last year. D-linemen and corner backs are probably the most important pieces to a defense. Imo you can get away with lesser tallent at lb and safety but not dl and cb.

The recruits are geared towards a pro style offense. Not rushing. Only time will tell. It may look like 1977 again. A great passing offense but losing to teams we should beat.

One recruit does not make a class, and one good class does not make a program. Let's finish in the Top 15 in recruiting on a consistent basis before we say that we've "rounded the corner."

Saying it has turned the corner only can be said a few years from now when the talent pans out.

Hold your horses. If we land a Top 15 Class for 2 consecutive years then break out the champagne; otherwise, keep your pants on.

We started out pretty fast two years ago. It's encouraging, but until we're consistently landing top fifteen classes year after year, were not there yet.

I think the recruiting is most definitely improved since Mike has been the head coach but with that said, we still have work to do and our recruiting still needs to get better.

Long way to go. Until we have 2 deep at each position and 1 additional group of 4* level talent in the redshirt group we will not be there. But this is a good start.

ReplyI believe A J Nater and Peyton Newell will see a lot of time on the field this year! Plus I see great things coming from our O line this year.
