Turner could do it all. He was equally an excellent runner and passer. And he was a great leader. He would have won 2 NCs if not for 2 terrible calls in the 82 Penn State game and a mediocre D in 83.

The best all around. He could throw better than Frazier. His problem was that his defense wasn’t that good and two of the teams top players got bought off.

There's not one in MVP, either, but Tommie has three of those, as well.

Both were great. I enjoyed watch Turner more than I did Tommy.

I have great respect for Turner and what he has done for the Nebraska football program both as a player and as a former coach. With that being said Tommie led NU to 2 National championships. Turner 0

Two NC's, but odd that you didn't include the one who won the Heisman in this discussion.

I'd take Turner Gill everyday of the week and twice on Saturday. I also get that Tommie had much better defensive support than what Turner had. However, in the end Tommie has 2 Natty's.

MVP in three bowl games that determined the National Championship. TF was at his absolute best in the biggest games. To come back and play great against Miami after missing 3 months was amazing.

I love them both. They are the two best QBs in Nebraska history. Frazier gets the nod because of the NCs, though Gill could have won two, also.

I think Turner is so close to Tommie in numbers, but 2 Naty’s is a heck of a tie breaker. Tommy won when Turner didn’t.

We all know it takes great TEAMS to win the titles, and Frazier arguably had better overall teams. But it isn't just that. He was the MVP of three straight title games. No one else has that.

I agree. Some years ago, some publication stated that Tommie was the all time best college QB because of leadership & not because of individual stats. Turner was great and really should have had 2 NC

He may not be as purely talented, but there is nothing but winning in Scott Frosts veins. He is a champion. That is why he'll be a fantastic head coach too. He is a winner. Simple as that.

I'd go with Frost as he was a fierce competitor who wasn't afraid to run someone over when necessary. The national championship was icing on the cake. Why wasn't this Frazier vs Frost?

Scott for leadership qualities, drive and toughness. While Eric was the better runner, Scott was the better option QB.

tough call for me, Scott Frost just had or has an attitude about him, he ran angry. I guess the question i would have is what would crouch have done with that 97 offensive line and coach Osborne

Eric Crouch had to carry the load of the offense. Scott was good too, but had better support and more weapons. Eric was faster, quicker as a runner, better instincts on the option. He also had better arm strength. Scott was bigger and stronger as a runner, a more vocal leader though. Close call

They were both terrific, but if we are comparing players (not teams) - it isn't very close. Eric Crouch could carry a team; he wasn't just 'fast' - he was tough and had a great will to win.

Scott had a better team around him. I believe Crouch was the better athlete and overall quarterback. I would pick him as my QB. Now compare to Gill, Gdowski, Taylor, Frazier...

If Crouch played for Osborne he'd have had even a better career. Not knocking Solich but it was clear the team fell off after Tom Os' departure.

These are impossible questions, but Turner Gill is my all time favorite. He changed the position at Nebraska, and had the ideal combination of elusiveness, toughness, leadership, and passing skills.

Jacobson was a monster on D - overshadowed by the even bigger monster R Glover. He was an outland winner - imagine his stats if he was the only beast on the line like SUH was.
