Nebraska football generates and insane amount of tax dollars for the state of Nebraska, I would think the state would want to help maintain that cash flow.
Reply ReplyOne must think about the revenues that a husker football games bring into the city of Lincoln. Only makes sense that they would help keep the facilities tip-top. CLaude
Reply ReplyWhat PJ said !! Whatever it takes to keep big red rolling !! GO BIG RED !!
Reply ReplyI think it's safe t say the the majority of households in Nebraska support the Football program. Spread equally across the state, I can't imagine that the needed/wanted taxes per household would be that much. I could be wrong. I haven't researched it.
Reply ReplyDo like other cities do and charge a tax on hotels and car rentals and let the visitors pay the tax to fund the stadium projects
Reply ReplyRevenue by athletic dept should pay for it. First of all, I dont approve of the south end zone change, eliminating seating for the common folk.
Reply ReplyThe football program is always bragging about how much they bring in. Why should any non fan have to support them?
Reply ReplyWith ever more dismal seasons I would guess that filling the stadium would be a problem. Nebraska fans are great, but there is only an indefinite time before they lose interest with dismal season results.
Reply ReplyAbsolutely not. This is NOT what our Founding Fathers had in mind, not that they are not turning in their graves with this socialist mess we've gotten ourselves into. I don't play football, I don't/can't go to the games and so this is taxation without representation.
Reply ReplyThe collected taxes should be used to invest in the state of Nebraska's college students to reduce tuition and fees, improve rural health care, and/or invest in things like expanding renewable energy sources. Let the boosters and fans pay for the renovations and upgrades.

Reply ReplyThe University and it's Mega-donors are not in a state of poverty. When the legislature is in attack mode on taxation, let us be prudent.
Reply ReplyThere is plenty of private money to take care of this. Just let them name a restroom after a large donor.
Reply ReplyThey sale out every game. They have money. We are taxed to much already. And the price of living is ridiculous.
Reply ReplyAll of the remaining games are winnable, so I think for sure we can win two of them!
Reply ReplyEach game we are getting better and our Defense is just as strong as they were the first game. It is only a matter of time for the Offense to open up and showcase all the young talent on the team. Not to mention every team left has struggles with stopping offenses. Our D will shut down their runs.
Reply ReplyC'mon...Northwestern / Purdue / Maryland, Iowa ALL @ home = 7 wins !! Right ? We should beat ALL of them, right ? I like Kool-Aid, but Tony White has got our boys heading in the right direction for a nice change, even though we need a pass rusher they've been solid & I believe will get better.
Reply ReplyThe defense will have to carry us, and the young receivers are gonna have to step up big time. Satterfield may have to think long and hard about throwing to run vs running to throw ... we shall see, but ZI think they'll go at least 6-6 maybe 7-5
Reply ReplyRemaining schedule should allow NU to win 3 more games, especially the next 3. NU could even win them all.
Reply ReplyThey have a better attitude now. They know they need to work to win and when something does not go their way they do not put their heads down and think back to last year.
Reply ReplyThe west is weak and the crossovers look very winnable after seeing Illinois beat Maryland. We will get to 6 and may even be in the hunt in the west
Reply Replyoffense is not coming together. injuries and less than stellar coaching on that side. o line and receivers and qb
Reply ReplyI think they'd be able to get to something like 7-5 if they still had some offensive weapons. But the lack of receivers and backs is going to make it difficult. If they do get to a bowl, it will be due to the defense.

The program was so broken that they need a few more years before we start to see what Frost has in store for the program. Let us trust him as we would Coach Oz
ReplyA coach with a solid track record, work ethic, understands Husker traditions and bleeds Husker red. Knows what it takes to win championships. Its a no brainer.
ReplyWe see now how much Frost has to deal wt - the cupboard was bare. Recruits need to see continuity and commitment by admin that we know where we are going and patient to get there.
ReplyEnough with starting over. We now have a coach who cares about Nebraska FB outcome. This not a job for SF, this is his personal mission.
ReplyThe University of Nebraska has too much time, money and confidence invested in Scott Frost. The contract extension verifies our commitment to SF. Back off and let him do his job!
ReplyIf Scott can’t turn this program around then nobody can.
ReplyIt takes time to build a culture yes it was the right move Frost will take Nebraska back to a champion team once He gets the players removed that don't won't to play
ReplyThe university big wigs let thing slip and takes time to get the ship back on course.
ReplyI believe Frost is on the right path, and showing you back your coach is key in recruiting. Also a large part of the whole Nebraska is in is how quickly we have been willing to drop a coach.
