Because schools should have the freedom to choose whatever name they want because this falls under the 1st amendment Freedom of Speech.

"New York officials voted to stop the practice this week." That, in a nutshell, describes how messed up New York is. They would prefer names like Lambs, Opossums, Fawns and names similar to that. I can't say the other names that they would approve of because it would be removed.

We need police officers not cameras. Our city council has a defund the police mentality and it's showing. We used to see vehicle stops all the time. Rarely do you see them anymore. The police don't even respond to some calls anymore. We will soon be Portland unless we decide to vote for better optio

I wonder if anyone asked the regular indigenous folks how they feel? Random guess, 99% would say "Dude, I don't care...I got more important things to do." Only the 1% get time on the mainstream media to spark this fake outrage.

I agree with Toasty. It's all fake outrage. Indian tribes have all indicated that they are either honored or indifferent to the team names, so who wants to ban them?

Only if they want massive investment that dramatically expands their taxbase and builds modern infrastructure close to the end users to support a growing futuristic economy. Unfortunately, Columbia city council listens to misguided special interests who live in leftist utopia dreamworld.

City leaders would rather tax the citizens. They don't want the city to grow.

Large data centers can consume up to 5 million gallons of water per day, which is equivalent to the water use of a small city. Additionally, they can draw as much electricity as 100,000 homes or more, significantly impacting local resources. That is simply unacceptable.
