Not just because of Gurley's injury. He's playing lights out and just shattered the NCCA rushing yards record. He's thought of as the next Jamaal Charles. I think he's the best RB in college football.

Todd Gurley is a world class talent but like Lattimore, consistent injuries limit his upside and are not worth a first round pick at this point.

Gurleys injury is an unknown. Gordins a very good RB. though this position may not be a selection in the first round. as the postion is not as valued as others

He's a big ten running back...no big ten running back has ever amounted to much in the nfl....

Melvin Gordon has had a stellar year, but Gurley was an exception to the new unwritten rule that drafting a RB in the first round is a mistake. Out of the top 10 rushers this year, only one of them (Marshawn Lynch) was drafted in the first round. And even then he is not on the team that drafted him. There are too many instances where college success does not translate to NFL success for RBs, on top of the fact that RBs are not nearly as important on successful teams.

Teams aren't going to reach for a rb with so many teams finding luck with late round picks or undrafted running backs

Isn't the best RB, and positional value is still low.

i just don't believe teams in the top 15 value running backs as much as they should

Although an injury could force a team to reach, the one position teams no longer reach for is running back. There are only a few teams in the NFL that even rely on 1 running back anymore. With back by committee as the main system, running backs aren't valued high enough for this to move Gordon up.

The injury to Gurley doesn't make Gordon more attractive. Gurley was/is projected high because he's so talented, not because there's a preexisting market for RBs high in the first round (because there isn't). The interesting question is what happens if Gurley pulls an Adrian Peterson and is running by April.
