Do I think it could be better, yes ….. but MR didn’t have a lot to work with considering frost didn’t recruit much if any. The D of course is a 180 turn around and I like MR philosophy of building a brotherhood bond between his players. He’s turned the ship around into the right direction !
ReplyI don't know if yes is the right answer because qb is the most important position on the field and he absolutely didn't have one ready. The reason I voted yes is because of what he has done after the season. I think he is a very good fit.
ReplyStarting with a new system, new coach, starting with a worthless QB. The team stayed together and had the highest retention in the Big10. That says it all for me.
ReplyThe man is the Builder and He is building. I'm not looking at the record as I am looking at the foundation being built . Great progress in Year One, 100% behind him.
ReplyI believe the culture and brotherhood has taken a big step. Players are a team. Now we must get past the stigma of believing we can win the 4th quarter and close games. Now instilling the confidence.
ReplyReasonable to impressive results given the circumstances. More importantly were his actions/decisions to further develop the entire program.
ReplyHitting the ground running and get a recruiting class signed, difficult with a failed NE past He did miss on the quarterback and Purdy lost in the shuffle but excellent D w Tony W, hopeful offensive signs, better special teams. Hopefully a winning record and good QB play, Future looks bright
ReplyMuch lot rot can be unnoticed for a long time, so can internal improvements, while the record wasn't a lot better, this program is in infinitely better shape than it was 14 months ago.
ReplyEverything but winning. But Satterfield will never give us the solid offense a championship team needs. I, along with many others, say we MUST be a run first offense (and to a fault). Anything else is a loser. I give Matt a B+ his first year.
ReplySimple look where we came from, 8 years of loses, Riley & Frost total disappointments. In both cases the head coaching job at NE was too big for both of them. We now have a process just follow it and it is impressive so far! GBR!!
ReplyLove Rhule and truly believe in him picture. However his game management cost us a couple of games. You are paid to have situational awareness and planning. he does SO MICH SO well, but he did not manage end of games well in terms of clock management and understanding his limits with personnel
ReplyA 5 win season is not up to Nebraska standards. Same old story losing close games and turnovers. Jeff Sims was a total failure
ReplyEverybody was happy with Jeff Sims until we found out he didn't have any "Fingers". Blame the coach...
There were some really questionable calls in some games re: going for a first down instead of going for a FG that cost them several games and trying some trick and fancy plays in the red zone but as others have said, he seems to have the program moving in the right direction.
ReplyThe mishandling of the QB situation and the November collapse at the end of the season.
ReplyNebraska football generates and insane amount of tax dollars for the state of Nebraska, I would think the state would want to help maintain that cash flow.
ReplyOne must think about the revenues that a husker football games bring into the city of Lincoln. Only makes sense that they would help keep the facilities tip-top. CLaude
ReplyI think it's safe t say the the majority of households in Nebraska support the Football program. Spread equally across the state, I can't imagine that the needed/wanted taxes per household would be that much. I could be wrong. I haven't researched it.
ReplyDo like other cities do and charge a tax on hotels and car rentals and let the visitors pay the tax to fund the stadium projects
ReplyRevenue by athletic dept should pay for it. First of all, I dont approve of the south end zone change, eliminating seating for the common folk.
ReplyThe football program is always bragging about how much they bring in. Why should any non fan have to support them?
ReplyOnly if they are going to expand seating capacity. If they are renovating to "enhance" the experience, let the donor pick up the tab.
ReplyWith ever more dismal seasons I would guess that filling the stadium would be a problem. Nebraska fans are great, but there is only an indefinite time before they lose interest with dismal season results.
ReplyAbsolutely not. This is NOT what our Founding Fathers had in mind, not that they are not turning in their graves with this socialist mess we've gotten ourselves into. I don't play football, I don't/can't go to the games and so this is taxation without representation.
ReplyThe collected taxes should be used to invest in the state of Nebraska's college students to reduce tuition and fees, improve rural health care, and/or invest in things like expanding renewable energy sources. Let the boosters and fans pay for the renovations and upgrades.

ReplyThe University and it's Mega-donors are not in a state of poverty. When the legislature is in attack mode on taxation, let us be prudent.
ReplyThere is plenty of private money to take care of this. Just let them name a restroom after a large donor.
ReplyThey sale out every game. They have money. We are taxed to much already. And the price of living is ridiculous.
