We are a dog and wildlife filled town in the middle of a historic drought. Fireworks are harmful to many in the community (animal and human), not to mention the most important point: they are a major fire risk (hence their name). There are better ways to enjoy holidays and celebrate with friends…

Fireworks severely affect animals and Veterans with PTSD. People seem to have this idea that the Fourth of July is to celebrate fireworks. NO! The Fourth of July is to celebrate our independence from Britain.

I feel the idea of maintaining a tradition, merely for the sake of being a sense of patriotism is anachronistic. There are other ways of showing patriotism that don't pose a potential danger to our environment or threat of bodily injury. The idea of "blowing s#!t" up because it's our right is dumb.

Weather patterns have changed resulting in increased risk of fire in our region. If the patterns should change reducing the fire risk in future, the law could be relaxed or eliminated.

I would rather my house not be burned down than being able to set off firework's.

With climate change and the miss use of fireworks this is an appropriate step. The argument of moving the sale out of town, that use will occur out of town posing more danger to the public is the very reason not just a City of Bend occur but State wide should be implemented. It only take one spark!

Correct me if I am wrong, but aside from making Karens and dogs a little uptight, fireworks in Bend have been relatively harmless fun. Cigarettes and rechargeable batteries seem to burn more houses down in the 20+ years I've been here.

Fireworks represent the many men and women that died holding the American Flags Rampart in place during the Brittish boming our Fort from the seas. It would be a disgrace to them and all who serve our Country for our freedom, and their service.

We should be able to celebrate the birth of our nation within reason. Some of the new residents in Bend are not familiar with Oregon and have voiced their concerns. We need to have the people vote on this subject not have a council decide this issue.

Fireworks haven't caused a Bend fire. Only disposal of them have. This is one more Freedom taken away from us. When will it stop?

Make it saffer sure, support the current laws yes, increase the punishment for dangerous behavior yes. Ban it for everyone - Hell No. I liked the fine I heard last year that if you cause a fire you have to fork over the bill that is cost to put it out.

Fireworks is not the only cause of wildfires, fireworks is done on certain holiday why make it a big problem. There’s other causes for fires. Don’t ban fireworks it helps non- profits

Why are you banning something that hasn't cause of a fire just because it potentially could. There's a large list of other items in this category like vehicles and alcohol. Better yet, cigarettes and soft drinks are proven to cause significant health issues and cost to healthcare, yet they are avail

The Oregon government and local police force has done a HORRIBLE job at keeping crime down, protecting cities, citizens and federal agents. If they can't do their job, TRUMP WILL.

I usually spend a number of days each month in the Portland area, including downtown. Having worked in downtown Portland for many years, yes it's not what it once was. Having said that, it's definitely not a "war zone" and nothing like Trump and his minions would like you to think.

A bunch of crap from the Trump administration that hopes to incite a violent response that justifies the use of violence and military action. Illegal, immoral, and unconstitutional. Get them out!

Because the exaggeration of conditions in Portland, LA, memphis and Chicago is nowhere near the actual events. He and his henchpeople including traitor dereamer are only creating a reason to occupy american cities and attack the democrats.

It’s a very small minority that’s causing a problem and for the most part, the marches are peaceful and none-combative. Portland’s problems, generally speaking; are the homeless sleeping on the streets and trashing the area, and not people marching in the streets.
