Hard to tell getting blown out yet again. I'll hope to see the improvement against lesser competition that will hopefully result in wins.

I think the Huskers have a legitimate shot in this game due to their experience on the offensive line. Run effectively and protect the QB keep the Buckeye offense on the sideline. TOP is key.

Yes. The Buckeyes have legitimate holes on defense, at least as far as experience goes.

Experience edge will get the Huskers off to a good start in the game. Buckeyes may pull away late due to a talent gap but it'll be closer than the "experts" think 38-20 tree nuts.

Nebraska has shown no improvement over the last decade. Why would this year be different with a large gap in quality players between these two schools?

I dont think its a must too average over 500yd /gm. Losing 4 games by 17 points isnt too far from being 9-3.

No, not a chance. But if they are able to manage it from time-to-time, this plodding defense will give up 700.

I'll happily be proven wrong, but that's a lot of yards for one game, let alone averaging it over a season in the Big Ten.

Without a solid and outstanding running game, I just don't see it. Ohio St and Wisconsin can do it because they look like the Huskers of old. We haven't learned from our own past teams.

Too many unknowns. I think 400 is doable but we don't know yet if we Manning is healthy or if we have other solid options outside of Robinson. Also will 2AM be effective and is there a good #2 RB?

ReplyDidn't get man handled like last year. S&C is finally paying dividends. We still need to clean up things in the area of penalties and execution.
ReplyTeam looked bigger. Offensive line seems stronger. A few playmakers on both sides. Not real crazy about playing so soft in defensive backfield but guess they did not want to get beat deep. Hopeful!
ReplyEffort - they played hard till the end, which they haven't always done the last two years.
ReplyWe saw for the first time in years our players showing they can play with anybody. We need some running backs, but then we are good to go.
ReplyProgress was there in terms of tackling, O/D line play, good offense decision making, and overall depth. No progress in turnovers and bad penalties and being our own worst enemy.

ReplyEven the announcers who normally hate us saw progress. Nebraska won the trenches half of the time, offense got north and south quick, linebacker play was solid finally. This team is much improved
ReplyCould have been 38-31. Should have been 45-31. But was 52-17. For every 10 good snaps there's always one drive killer. Glad that the offense went North to south and limited the sideline play. GBR

ReplyProgress is there but quite honestly the celebrating of moral victories against upper echelon teams is getting a bit tired. 52 -17 is 52-17. Its a thrashing.
