Nebraska has the potential to roll on this one, however, Illinois has the potential to score a lot as well. I predict NU will win a close game, less than by 15 points in a shootout. My predication somewhere around 42-35. NU needs to prove that they can play two solid halves of offense.

I'll have to see more consistency on the offensive side of the ball before I'd take us by 15 over any team in the B1G.

I haven't seen anything solid in 3 yrs under Frost and I am a big fan of his.

Nebraska has never really been a good team ATS. However, you never know what you're going to get from IL and we certainly can't pin the consistancy tag on NU at this point. I wouldn't touch this game!

75% of Huskers' problems are communication from the sidelines. Not getting plays called right, players late coming in, confusion, wasted time outs, etc. After the first scripted 15 plays we bog down. This won't change til Frosty shares play calling with Lubeck

Offensive play calling is too predictable. Frost needs to hand this duty over. Defense can’t stop the run, got turnovers this week and bowed up at the goal line, but that won’t happen evey week. Case in the point the first two games.

He deserves a shot. We have seen what Martinez can and can't do for 2+ years. Not sure if it is confidence or what, but he seems to have regressed. Being challenged for the starting job may be the best thing for him. Put up or sit down. Hope McCaffery plays well tomorrow! GBR

Better arm velocity and accuracy. Better runner as well.

Give the kid a shot. Some players are practice players and some game players. Let's see if Luke has the "it" factor to elevate the play of those around him. If it's not working we can always see if Martinez is any better coming off the bench.

2 players have said his calling of plays has No cadence or tempo causing off sides or slow blocking, sounds like a coaching problem

We need badly need an offensive spark. Let's give Luke a chance to see if he can provide it.

weve stuck with Matinez long enough. With 2 losses, this season will be a bust. Time to look to the future.

I have been an avid Cornhusker fan my entire life. Martinez is good for a turn-over every game and does not know how to win ball games. Its time to move on to McCaffrey. Sorry Martinez, you're garbage

Let's see, decisiveness LM gets the edge, running threat LM gets the edge, precision passing LM gets the edge, the only thing Martinez has the edge on is experience which isn't helping him at all.

Martinez is no longer is his freshman self. The O needs a spark, time to let someone else energize it.

We need a spark, and unfortunately Adrian lost his after the 2018 season.

Better passer and greater information processing bandwidth. Use Martinez as a changeup QB and slot receiver. Gotta get all the talent on the field and then use it.

McCaffrey seems to provide a spark to the whole team. He shows decisiveness, leadership and toughness.

Martinez, while talented, waits a second to long with his targets. This gives defense time to catch up. McCaffrey has a faster release and better timing. More playing time will fix his misses.

McCaffrey is a fast blinker and can process the field faster than Martinez. As soon as he came in against Northwestern, I saw receivers like Betts and Flemming catch passes.

Didn't get man handled like last year. S&C is finally paying dividends. We still need to clean up things in the area of penalties and execution.

Team looked bigger. Offensive line seems stronger. A few playmakers on both sides. Not real crazy about playing so soft in defensive backfield but guess they did not want to get beat deep. Hopeful!

We saw for the first time in years our players showing they can play with anybody. We need some running backs, but then we are good to go.

Progress was there in terms of tackling, O/D line play, good offense decision making, and overall depth. No progress in turnovers and bad penalties and being our own worst enemy.

I see hope. Let's add consistency to hope and we should turn some heads this year. We need to stop the mental errors (time mgmt, fumbles, penalties). There is no margin of error. Fix these =Progress

Even the announcers who normally hate us saw progress. Nebraska won the trenches half of the time, offense got north and south quick, linebacker play was solid finally. This team is much improved

Could have been 38-31. Should have been 45-31. But was 52-17. For every 10 good snaps there's always one drive killer. Glad that the offense went North to south and limited the sideline play. GBR

Progress is there but quite honestly the celebrating of moral victories against upper echelon teams is getting a bit tired. 52 -17 is 52-17. Its a thrashing.

Hard to tell getting blown out yet again. I'll hope to see the improvement against lesser competition that will hopefully result in wins.
