What he has been able to accomplish, in today's world of parity in college football, is nothing short of amazing.

SEC gets the athletes these days. Easy to coach when you have those kids. Best coach in SEC? Yes.

Can't compare eras. Osborne retired when he was five years younger than Saban is now--who knows if he would have won more? Wilkinson, Bryant, Rockne, Leahy? Only a partial list. Yes, he is great. but let's just calm down with the superlatives. No one has to be the best ever...

If he had done what he has done at Alabama at Michigan State I would say yes! However doing so at a school like Alabama with the resources and SEC I say hell no. In my opinion TO would have 10 titles if he coached at bama not three.

No way to prove he is--too many factors involved. Number of championships statistically puts him up high, but… How about outcomes in the lives of young men?

By far, the best recruiter. Not close to the best coach.

Access to crop of great athletes within recruiting area. A very good coach and has hired a good staff. But can not compare different time periods.

Bear, Switzer, Osborne, and Bowden didn't have social media at their disposal. Access to recruits is literally at the end of Saban's fingertips. Old school coaches had to actually hit the road and FIND players.

when he can win by not cheating at Recruiting by over singing recruits and still have success without 5 star players then maybe he will be compared to Osborn

The Bear at Bama is still #1, followed by Bud Wilkinson and Tom Osborne.

Too many losses compared to other coaches at this point in his career. Didn't earn 2 title games but SEC bias put Bama in despite better, more worthy teams from elsewhere.

Best recruiter, yes. Best coach? I can't say since I would be comparing him to all other coaches that were under different coaches throughout the years, including Bear Bryant.

When you continually get the best players it is not hard to win. Try recruiting to the middle of nowhere and win 3 championship in 4 years with 3 star players.

It just came up, he's a great head coach, he gets the best recruits in the country, which alot of teams in ncca football don't if coach for another twam not in the power conferance, he would not win .fair

"All time" is too broad in comparing different eras. In the mid 20th century, 20-30 years constituted an era. By the end of the 20th, it was down to 20 years. Now in the 21st, it's shortened to 10 years as so many changes in budgets, recruiting, player development, and stay in college vs. the NFL...

I just think Bama's front 7 are too dominant. Ultimately, they will be too much for Clemson. Clemson should give them a better game than MSU did. ;)
