I would rather keep my pets around and have other people's children locked up in a pen.
Reply ReplyNot if they are not a nuisance. Mine is 9 yrs old and very well trained to behave. She will never touch anyone. She likes to be petted but will not bother anyone.
Reply ReplyIt depends on how well behaved the pet is and how well they do when isolated. Pets have feelings too!
Reply ReplyMy pomchi of 9 yrs comes before dinner guests so if they cant deal with it, they dont get an invite
Reply ReplyMy dog is quite well behaved, and she's a member of the family! I always ask if someone is allergic (and if they're afraid of small dogs, they can claim an allergy), and then I would isolate her.
Reply ReplyThey are part of the family just as much as the human people are. Therefore they should be trained in respect and behaviors just as human children.

Absolutely. Some folks are scared of or allergic to some types of animals and don't want them jumping all over them.
ReplyPets tend to jump on people. Let the guest slowly get acquainted instead of a stranger bursting into the pets territory. Often met with surprise and hostility from pet. Let pet settle down first.
ReplyNot all guests are comfortable around pets. And you need to protect your animals too.
ReplySome people are allergic to them.
ReplyI love animals, but not at the dinner table or with company.
ReplyIf pets are well behaved and do not beg for food or get under foot than they can stay. Most people these days do not train their animals to this standard, though.
ReplyOf course. It finally dawned on me...these questions are being asked, not because there is a need to know, really, its for our own amusement and entertainment. I think I'll go and pull up some weeds...
ReplyWith rare exceptions, if pets are well behaved and your guests are comfortable with the pets. Our cats, on the other hand, consider the dining table part of their lounging territory, so no way!
