David Benioff and D. B. Weiss consistently write and produce high-quality material on "Game of Thrones." They also are the guiding force behind exceptional cinematography and crowd-pleasing twists and turns. Given the larger budget of a major film to work with, they can bring this quality to the "Star Wars" franchise, ensuring future films do not suffer from a dip in quality.

Benioff and Weiss have ridden the coattails of George R.R. Martin's storytelling ability throughout the "Game of Thrones" series run. Once the show moved beyond the published books in the series, the story lines became formulaic and the show's quality dipped. Benioff and Weiss may be good producers, but they should not be in charge of writing a new "Star Wars" movie.

I loved Game of Thrones....until the final season. Once they got past the source material, Benioff and Weiss' limitations as writers were exposed. They're great at adapting material though.
