I think that it would benefit the businesses, especially restaurants, on Minnesota. I would personally love to walk anywhere downtown without worrying about distracted drivers.

Would be great to have a city that is designed more for people and less cars.

Beautification, a place to sit and relax while my wife shops and potentially more outdoor dining!

This is a GREAT idea! Its a start, eventually Wall and Bond between Oregon and Franklin should be traffic free also except between Midnight and 10 AM for deliveries only! To do that the downtown parking garage should be expanded to 4 levels or another parking garage needs to be build.

Why Bend doesn't think about creating some rooftop restaurants? I lived in DC for 15 yrs, and there are many. You're up high, away from traffic noise, under the stars. It's a really great idea. Doing this atop a few buildings here would negate the need for using sidewalks for outdoor dining.

Downtown parking is bad enough as it is without taking away more parking spaces.

And the lost spots will be moved to where? How are you going to keep homeless encampments from taking over the area?

Please stop trying to remove parking spots in downtown. Not everyone can walk very far due to medical issues.

Look at other cities that have tried this and found out it does not work. Downtown business districts need traffic flow. Pedestrian malls disrupt the flow, hurt business and in many cases are converted back to streets for vehicles. There are examples all over the country.
