Expanding the pedestrian zone into Minnisota only removes a handful of parking spots downtown. Not enough to make a difference in parking. As well as, it is only a block so customers of those businesses will be fine walking a block (most likely they would have had to park more than a block away.

A city I lived most of my life in did what Bend is considering. It destroyed the downtown. Parking went from bad to worse. Panhandlers took it over. Businesses left because the customers left. After decades of decay the last I heard they were considering making it a roadway again.

There is not enough parking downtown to begin with

There's not enough parking downtown as it is. Because of that I avoid the area. If these pedestrian things are put in, I'll never go there again. Too big a hassle for the paltry shopping.

Don't close Minnesota Avenue, and don't take away any more parking elsewhere. A Promenade is not needed. The sidewalks provide plenty of walking room in the downtown area.

We need to stay informed about the local news that impacts our lives inBend and CO. Need to stay up to date on sheriff and police issues, parking, housing and what the city councils and county commissions are doing

I imagine your idea of a “great” newspaper, would be Pravda or some MAGA run rag, right? (All the Conservative obfuscation, all of the time!) Why you think the Bulletin is a “Liberal” publication, I just don’t get. Now, “The Source”, THAT’S definitely a Liberal rag. (And they’re very good at it!)
