only in a state like Oregon would democrats vote to NOT penalize people that brutally beat people to the degree they have life altering injuries. How is this even real. This should be voted on with 100% support. The question you need to ask is why?

I vote for tougher penalties on crime altogether. Especially violent crime towards children. Anyone who harms a child like Ezra should never see the light of day again. Stop this soft on crime BS. DA's and judges should be permanently removed from office.

Absolutely, there needs to be accountability for one's actions.

Oregon is far too soft on crime in general, the courts need to step it up and do their job, one should not have a dozen parole/probation violations before they just simply get locked up for a spell, this should have happened the first violation!!

Yes definitely, that poor child's life has been terribly altered! We need much tougher serious crime punishments, the soft on crime left proves it is deeply hurting America. Dangerous criminal walking the streets and hurting more people is seriously unbelievable, the D A ,s should be charged!

Beginning to look like the city wants to be a mini Portland. Not what Central Oregon is all about.

Piping the canals to conserve water is the logical next step. Where does Commissioner Adair think the wildlife got a drink before the canals were made over 100 years ago? I will admit reducing Junipers and reinvigorating our wild grasslands makes sense.

The canals were not put in as "water features" for people's backyards. Build your own water feature and pay for the water. This water is meant for agriculture.

Commission Adair, where do you think wildlife get water when irrigation water is off Oct-March? Please share your plan and funding strategy for removing 5 million juniper trees. What will happen to the wildlife that live in those trees. Your argument is weak.

Why do Bend residence have to accommodate Jefferson county. I'm sure someone up there can figure a way go pump the water they need out of Lake Billy Chinook

I agree with commissioner Patti Adair - there are other alternatives.

Wildlife has relied on these open canals for decades. There is no other option for critter water.
