Burn it along with the people who put it there.

I am deeply saddened to hear the city official suggest that the victim simply drive a different way home so she won’t have to see the train. Seriously!?

Destroy...no need to have this specific train to promote your history. Also, the city council person that was interviewed for this piece needs to be replaced. No room for closed mindedness in politics

This particular train is not a symbol of the railroad, it is a symbol of a sexual predator. While they're at it, maybe Metolius could mount a Confederate battle flag on the train.

How dare they keep that train. There are other ways to honor the city's past.

There is no reason for the city to display a train built by a child abuser

Not only is the builder gross, that train is friggin ugly! Can’t Metolius do better? Get a few kindergartners to build one. It will be much better and without disgusting history.

Have someone else build another, different train to display and keep everyone happy,

If you knew the history, you would know this is no “monument”, it’s a symbol of child abuse and should absolutely be destroyed.

This train represents child sex abuse!! Absolutely disgusted by Metolius City Council for still choosing to keep/display this knowing what it represents.

Why would anybody want to preserve something that was used in the abuse of young chikdren?

Because a man-made wood train that was built in Madras to be used as a sexual tool, has nothing to do with the history of Metolius.

The train should be destroyed. This man who made the train is a convicted sexual predator and his train should go to the dump. Please listen to this young lady, her life matters!

The aggrandizing of such memorabilia is disrespectful to survivors of sexual abuse, and women as a whole. And as a man and a father, I find it offensive.

The community all know the creator of the train is a convicted felon of child sexual abuse. No one, including the victim and her family, needs to see the train as a reminder.

No one that was convicted of such a horrible crime should be honored or recognized by having their work on display. ESPECIALLY when that work was part of the evidence in that case. It's traumatizing.

This was built by a man who did the most horrible crime to a child. Keeping this structure will not help the victims continue to go on with their lives

Metolius should honor their railway heritage and build a new train made with community support and representing history that isn’t tied to such heinous atrocities and not cling to it.

The trauma this train brings is more harmful than the history of how it came to be.

How could anyone think it would be right to preserve it? How crazy! The man that built it is in prison - look at his record! And give this lovely young woman some peace!!!

I can’t believe this has come this far - really? If any of those Council members were victims and/or family members were victims they would be having a bomb fire disposal in front of City Hall!

If Dulaney needs to understand why a victim would be bothered by such an item, I am more than willing to explain it to him. The next statement he makes should be to say he is resigning.

Really? Do they really want to honor a pedophile? I guess I won't be going there again.

A convicted pedophile should NEVER be celebrated in any way. The city council should be ASHAMED. Dulaney saying she could “just drive a different way” was DISGUSTING. Why would he say that? Curious.

I'm sorry I voted for preserving the train. I didn't know the history and thought it was just another monument the left wanted destroyed. If I could change my vote I surely would.

Keep the train. He was wrongly accused. He is my grand father. She is a liar and it was in her sister yard for a long time after he was sent way.
