I'm for this if they are designed to limit their light pollution and just light what they need to. No need for excess

In some neighborhoods, most definitely! Dark neighborhoods are havens for crime. Light dissuades crime.

I see lots of comments on nextdoor about car prowling, break-ins and vandalism. There are over 200 homes in our development and not one single street light! I keep all my outdoor lights on all night.

Studies show that increased light does not increase safety. Just wasting energy, disrupting birds, people's ability to sleep, and pollutes the night sky.

Especially along 97, where there are curves, and at exits or entrances to the parkway.

There are definitely streets or stretches of that could be better lit up. I walk frequently and it would make me more comfortable.

I support dark sky compliance. Light pollutes the night sky making it hard for migrating birds, observing the stars, and sleeping! Studies show that light does not increase safety.

I'm encouraged that the City of Bend is replacing lamps with LED lamps that will use less power, emit less heat, and are dark sky compliant by pointing down, not out or up, preserving the night sky.

It’s fine the way it is. We are not a huge city. We have made it the past 30 years I have been here.

Yes, but it's grown significantly. I see lots of comments on Nextdoor about car prowling, break-ins and vandalism. More street lights may help minimize this. We do not have a single street light.

The Oregon government and local police force has done a HORRIBLE job at keeping crime down, protecting cities, citizens and federal agents. If they can't do their job, TRUMP WILL.

Oh yeah, Trump did a great protecting when he incited the riot at the Capital on January 6th. Then had the unmitigated gall to pardon his MAGA idots for their crimes. What a guy...

I usually spend a number of days each month in the Portland area, including downtown. Having worked in downtown Portland for many years, yes it's not what it once was. Having said that, it's definitely not a "war zone" and nothing like Trump and his minions would like you to think.

A bunch of crap from the Trump administration that hopes to incite a violent response that justifies the use of violence and military action. Illegal, immoral, and unconstitutional. Get them out!

Because the exaggeration of conditions in Portland, LA, memphis and Chicago is nowhere near the actual events. He and his henchpeople including traitor dereamer are only creating a reason to occupy american cities and attack the democrats.

It’s a very small minority that’s causing a problem and for the most part, the marches are peaceful and none-combative. Portland’s problems, generally speaking; are the homeless sleeping on the streets and trashing the area, and not people marching in the streets.
