Many executions across the country have been found to be in error. Also, given the extreme expense of prosecuting a capital case, a life sentence is a better option.

It should ONLY be used for the worst of the worst: multiple murders, torture, child abuse/murder and ONLY if ALL DNA has been tested...even if it's found AFTER a conviction!

The old testament says an eye for an eye, so it must be ok with God?

If you are found guilty or plead guilty and the crime you committed deserves that punishment, than by all means enforce it! Too bad the punishments take so long to be enforced.

Murderers, child rapists, child killers should be executed within 6 months instead of being supported by taxpayers for decades.

I don't believe it is a punishment if used only to protect the innocent from being victimised again. It's protection. Also. people should not be languishing on death row.

I think it should be metered out for sex offenders, murderers, habitual violent offenders and drug dealers of man made substances.

The people of Oregon voted for capital punishment and our worthless elected officials do whatever they want regardless of their duty and oath of office.

Some really heinous crimes call for it. If it doesn't get the scum off the street for good, at least, it gives the AG a higher place from which to negotiate.

There are situations in which the death penalty is appropriate.

Until someone experiences a senseless act to a livlo one, they will never believe in the death penalty. My sister was killed, and the murderer doesn't deserve to live.

Keeping Killers alive in prison for life is not fair to those who lost loved ones to these animals, plus it cost tax payers way to much! Why should we keep paying for them to have free living!

We need that money in our own country to help our schools, Medicare and education. Don’t you care about our neighbors and communities?

That money won't help our neighbors and schools when Iranian nukes start hitting our allies and eventually us! That is their goal as they have stated for years!!

If it even needs saying, the Military Industrial Complex is the MOST bloated budget of the entire federal budget. If our current "completely-in-over-his-head" Def Sec + idiot prez hadn't started a completely unnecessary war, we would not have depleted stores of weapons and this be on nobody's radar!

Ka San, You sound like a radical liberal. Guess you'd rather have nukes start flying around in the middle east and then closer to home in a couple years.

As a tax payer and resident of Deschutes County I am tired of my tax dollars being used to clean up the filth the homeless people leave behind. If this is a deterrent for them living there then we won’t have to clean it up again. Thus saving tax payer dollars and the rocks are a better look.
