Yes and no. If I'm on the road or out past dark I do carry a backup. IF it's to do a few errors during the day then I normally carry my everyday pistol. But always carry an extra mag on me.

When traveling I like to have a backup weapon to be able to arm my wife or daughter while I drawn off any trouble that may approach us. At home I carry one weapon.

a warning shot may dissuade someone without loss of life. if I aim AT you, I'm aiming to kill you, not hurt you.

"Warning Shots" mean you were not in immediate danger, hence no reason for deadly force.

"Warning shots" are a waste of possible needed ammunition, are not aimed in a safe direction as a rule and a tactical no-no.

Firing a warning shot indicates you are not in imminent danger.

A warning shot says that you were not in fear of your life therefore you could have used other means to stop the attack. If a gun is truly your only option then shoot to kill.
