The city can spent millions on people who never lived in Bend but get everything for free and they leave piles of trash everywhere they go. Then the city says they don't have any money to fix streets where taxpayers live Something wrong with this picture

More homeless equals more trash. Pretty simple equation. Thanks City Council

The bums are camping in or near the canal by Brookswood. COID is good about expelling them quickly but the trash blows all over the place. People used to walk this trail all the time. Now I see the vagrants smoking crack/meth. My neighborhood that borders this is full of families.

It is probably the most cost effective method of waste collection. And when it comes to spending taxpayer money, how can anyone argue with a proven system that costs significantly less in the long run. The only negatives to them are people who can't understand them.

Progressives prefer trash bags, litter, and drag shows.

Yes, it just makes sense. It's 2023 and modern day trash collection techniques have changed. I hate self checkout, but that's the direction things are going nowadays. Get with the times or be lost in the past!!

Eyesores that will make our neighborhoods look trashy and cost jobs for minority men.

No one wants that gross and dangerous job, slinging bags. There is no need to make this a racist or social issue, it's picking up the trash. At taxpayer expense. Doing so in a cost effective manner. Doh!

The citizens of Columbia voted this down before. I would think that the city would put it to a vote of the people again instead of deciding for us.

That election was rigged with heavily biased wording. A mistake the voters should never allow to happen again. That bordered on election fraud in the eyes of some. An attempt at voter manipulation, for sure.

The citizens of Columbia voted against roll carts, yet the city manages to disregard them.

That was a very poorly worded election, seemingly purposely done. And now that people realize they were fooled, they will actually read the ballots closer.

Space is limited and they will be seen all over Columbia in front yards. Ugly, and hard to roll.

The majority of homeowners will bring them in. Deal with exceptions when they come up IMO.

It will be hard to roll if there is a lot of snow on the ground...

We had them while living in Flagstaff, Arizona. More snow there than here, and it was no big deal, you adapt.

the homeless should be picking up the highway trash in exchange for vouchers for all the benefits they get like shelters, food, showers etc. no vouchers no freebies. I work every day for my vouchers, its called money. I don't work i get no money I get no food, shelter etc. Save tax $$.

Put people to work cleaning up the roadways. Even the stretches of highway that are "adopted" don't get the attention they need.

The trash I have noticed seems to be remnants of homeless encampments.

Made a trip to Redmond this past weekend and was shocked at the amount of garbage on the roadside. What happened to prisoners helping clean it up?
