Because we need it to assist with catching the criminals to keep our community safer. Witnesses are afraid to come forward, and the police are short handed.

The govt has facial recognition of all the domestic terrorists in Portland Or. but won't prosecute them, but will go after innocent mothers at school board meetings. Go figure, you may be the next one arrested. Your own words from three months ago. "Privacy concerns and government over reach!" LGB
Unfortunately we feel it is a necessary thing these days. We've come a long way from not locking our front door to having a fully fenced property, a watch dog, and security cameras. Gone are the good old days of real neighborhoods.

Obviously to 1) alert me if something is happening while I'm not there, 2) hopefully provide info to identify and possibly catch the criminals.

I do NOT, I did at one time but false alarms caused a lot of problems! The County started fining me for false alarms, it was not my fault, they should fine the alarm company not me! False alarms freak you out! You have drop everything rush home for nothing! It was like buying trouble!
