Access to the arts is nothing new. Every major community has a vibrant, inclusive performing arts center. It's the one place that can bring us together to experience our humanity through theater, music, dance and much more. Is the time right for Bend? Attend a town hall to find out.

As long as we pay for it out of the Visit Bend room tax haul, I am all in.

We don't need more.of this we need to use money for mental health facilities

Your question is misleading. We don't have a center for the arts, so asking about "another" one is curious. We need such a facility to serve as a year-round venue for large audiences and the acts that will bring them; we need the rehearsal, teaching and storage facilities being proposed.

Thank you, Jon. :) I also contacted them and it's been corrected.

Not very many people go to local art events at the current performing art centers that we currently have unless their child is in something or maybe some friends. We could use that money for other important things like mental health facilities for our homeless population.

This center would not be funded with public funds. So there would be no dipping into what we all know we need for mental health support in our region.

I've never seen so many people running red lights as there is is in Redmond and Bend. Enough money could be made to probably run the police or city budget.

Actually cities lose money with the operation and upkeep of these camera systems. They just installed one in Portland and they said there is no money to be made. The cost of upkeep is higher than the amount of fines that will be paid. It's about safety not money.

If "we the people" establish laws (that includes setting speed limits) than "we the people" should enforce ALL of the laws. Traffic cams are cheap and easy and if you put one every quarter-mile on the Bend Parkway, Bend could earn enough to totally abolish property taxes... ;-)

We could fund a new homeless shelter every week if we put speed cameras on the parkway.

The red light runners and school zone speeders could make the city alot of money if we had the officers to cover

We already have them. I watch them all the time on the ODOT website. We need to keep them.

Love the idea! Too many folks running red lights and endangering the lives of others. Plus, a nice boost to the budget!

Can't depend on people acting responsible. Make some money from the violators. Attach their tax returns.

No, Bend will just raise taxes again. People that are on a fixed income are being forced out of Bend because of prices.

Very invasive and subject to errors.

Lol, they aren't in your bedroom. There is absolutely nothing invasive about it. You just don't want to get caught.

Dieter Heinzer

Error? Many states are successfully using cameras to collect tools for their highways and it's a well-established system. As for "invasive" ... Dude, you're on a PUBLIC road!!!!!!

I am voting for John DiPaola. He is thoughtful, professional and prepared. Let’s get behind this good man and flip the 5th District seat to the Republicans!

I’m voting for Lori Chavez-DeRemer. I know and trust Lori and I truly believe she’s the one we need right now to help lead us back from the brink of disaster the current west side congressional delegation has gotten us in to. She’ll excel in representing all Oregonians, not just the west siders.
