Sure, this team can score, but what happens when Peter Jok graduates after the season? The brunt of the opposition's defensive focus this year is on Jok. Take him out of the picture and they will need to find a way to get guys open. This team has potential, but in college, defense is imperative. Without it, they will be hard pressed to win the big games. Here's to hoping they can improve with experience in that department.

6 1/2 years in, Fran still has no discernable offensive strategy. He continues to recruit...well..."less-than-intense" players who get pushed around and seem to lack killer instinct. And point guard....yes, Fran, it's still an important position for most coaches. I've seen enough.

Great young group Inexperienced
ReplyI think even if we can't manage a split in the big ten wins wise. I'd like to see us continue to grow, either way next year I'm not worried we have some amazing talent that just needs time. Plus bringing in at least one post player that may get some time first year will help.
ReplyI love the young talent and the athleticism. I also like what is in the pipeline. It's going to be a bright future the next 4+seasons
ReplyThis season is not about how they finish 2017. It is about how they finish 2018, 2019, and 2020. All of Pemsl, Bohannon, and Cook look like bona fide B1G players to build around for those years.
ReplyWhile poor recruiting has us in this mess, better recruiting leaves the future bright. Plus, the experience this young group is getting is invaluable. People need to realize that most of the 4 stars we are getting are good not great. Combined they have a lot of potential
ReplyThey are young and have the potential to be pretty good. It is important to give them time to gel and get the schemes. I'm excited for the future!
ReplyThe individual skill level of the players continues to increase, so as long as they gel as a team, the future is bright.
ReplyWE have some great young players who are developing into quality players. We need a Great point guard but we will get better.

ReplyOther than the defense (which will eventually come together), this team is so fun to watch. Plus, Cook being injured actually helps to make the other guys step up. This team will be fun to watch for the next few seasons!
