Considering that roughly 90 teams would be "tough" for Nebraska these days, I think you have to schedule tough teams. There wouldn't be a lot to choose from otherwise. Those lower level cupcakes are being scheduled by other teams too.

Play non-conference but not FBS schools

Need to be tested before big 10 begins. Should not be afraid of anyone.

The NFL has a pre season and nebraska should look at it like that. Get the players ready for the season. Conference play. Its a good way to build depth and get experience. They play toigh enough teams in the Big10 not to have to play them outside of the Conference.

Roy makes a valid point below. I also want to add that until the SEC goes to 9 conference games AND the selection committee starts putting more weight into the strength of schedule, we should keep scheduling cupcakes for non-conference games.

Nebraska needs time to develop game ready players before heading into the big ten.

Why not... at least we can hope during the off-season. We are Nebraskans after all.

Next season would be the season to do it. Pretty good set up schedule wise and we SHOULD have the talent to make it happen.

1. look at MR history. 2. Look at how MR's aggressiveness at improving coaching and roster. 3. the team has been learning how to win and we are positioned for a break through. 4. Dylan Raiola!!!

Yes. In fact, NU will win 11 games next year. But 3 of the wins will be moral victories. Final record: 8 wins, 3 moral victories, 2 losses.

I can't do it! I can't say it. Husker fans have been burned too many times. PROVE IT FIRST! GBR!

We replaced 3 coordinators and basically lost our d-line. I haven’t seen any evidence that our o-line will be good next year. We also lost most of our running back room. We’re probably not going to be much better next year than this year.

If Coach Ruhl had made more changes after year 1 (OC, special teams) I would be more optimistic for year 3. But after three games, extra practices, and a bowl game (barely) this year, I haven't seen much to make me think things will be that much better next year.

Leipold will likely prefer the Husker job over the Badgers for three reasons, and it's quite possible he would keep a few of the existing staff, namely Joseph and Busch.

Leipold will likely stay at KU. Why? Because his contract will be renegotiated in a big way and if you win over half your games as a HC at Kansas you will be the all time winning coach ever. Jack Mitchell is number one. You will have long time security in this day and age of firing coaches.

Campbell isn't B1G quality. We can and will do much better. ISU is a 4th tier fbs team. We are a blue blood. We are not the same.

I kind of doubt it because I believe Leipold would go to Wisconsin now that they fired Chryst and I don't think Aranda would come. That leaves Gundy, which is possible. Personally, I'd love to see it work out for MJ. GBR!!!!

I'll go with no. As the Baylor coach didn't leave for more money laden pastures last year. And the KU coach mayget a full court press from Wisconsin.
