Rankings are BS as there are too many variables. Somebody who has way too much time and can't come up with anything better to write about.

Actually this ranking is about right. I'm not expecting better than a 9 or 10 win season in any of the seasons Riley is at Nebraska. I hope I'm wrong.

I think in 2-3 years, you'll see the Huskers back in the top 10-15 on a regular basis. This year, the Huskers will be back to 9 wins and finish in the top 25. Give it time.

So far I'd say show me! He hasn't yet. NU is soft and not tough. That is why turnover margin is terrible and the team has a lot of injuries.

He took a 9 win team and only won 6 (and would only have been 5 without a gift). Given how many teams there are out there and given his record, being ranked #41 is a gift.

A coach should be judged by what he puts on the field and Mike Riley is a .500 coach who has never won a championship in American Football. How long has the guy coached? 20-25 yrs. That's pretty bad.

Good people as coaches. The line depleted, now is in the hands of a great upcoming coach. Linebackers and d-backs are in good hands.

I like their chances but it may take a few games with a young d-line. I wish the veterans would have stuck around 1 more year. Our young d-line improvement is the key i believe.

I don't think that it will happen this year. I think this year will be terrible. However I think 2017s defense could be pretty good. I feel better about the direction of the defense than the ofense.

the talent was there last year, the talent is there this year and we have a new motivator speaking in terms that will get them ready for games, so yeah Nebraska will turn it around.......

To me, the 'D' coordinator is still a question mark. 'D' line is a question mark. Although I like John Parrella's chances of bringing them around.

Likely improvement in the DBs negated by weaker defensive line.

Did not see enough development last season to give me any meaningful reason to suggest that what is returning on the defensive side of the ball will be anywhere near what will be needed for a winning season.

Not this year with the lack of depth and meaningful experience on the defensive line. it all starts there. We're going in the right direction though.

Not sure. This year will tell a lot. I was hoping it was a aggressive defense, but I didn't see it last year. Only Nate Gerry at the end of the year got aggressive. No excuses this year, players know the defense, so now we will find out/

Huskers are building talent...they are largely on par with Wisconsin right now from a talent perspective...the Wisconsin game shows how well the coaches are developing the talent we have...win that...the Oregon game in 2017 can be the next barometer game

Oregon will give us view of where we are in terms of development for the first part of the season. However, not necessarily for the season itself because Oregon uses, or has used much more of a hurry up offense than we see in BIG. .

Over the past decade or so, Oregon has been considered a national power still has the national perception of being an elite program. These are the types of schools we need to be able to defeat on a regular basis if we want to be considered elite again.

The tone will be set early for what the season will look like. Just like last year. The BYU game said it all for what the team looked like last year.
