Most libraries already have those policies in place. It's the parents place to oversee their children's reading material -not the government. Freedom of speech & access to the speech & writing of others is a fundamental right in our free country. Dictators regulate access to reading and education.

This move would give government way too much control over. Parents are responsible (and have always been) for what their children check out. Go with your kids to the library if you're concerned about what they're checking out.

It is the parent's responsibility to censor their childrens' reading materials, not the library, not the government. Librarians are not babysitters.

There is nothing like the smell of a good book in your hands to bring one joy.

I read books on my Kindle. But only because I have ran out of space to store actual books. However I have to admit that I listen to books instead of the radio when I drive.

I enjoy reading and can get through a book faster than listening to an audio book. That said, when we travel, we often take an audio book with us.

Audiobooks. It’s changed my life. I stay focused better and get through far more books. Great for a road trip too.

I love both but I have a difficulty staying focused and listening helps me get through a book much easier.

There are many things to learn from at the library instead of just books. Go take a look and see what other stimulating materials are there!

Like you go to the library. And this would be a third location in Bend, there is one on the Eastside near Costco. Further proof you don't know anything about how busy the library is, you just like to hear yourself whine.
