We haven’t had an attack within our borders since then, so yes we are safer due to the many protocols that have been put in place; but N Korea looms and Un is crazy, so an attack could come that way.

I am not for the aggression suggested by using War in the name.

Department of War implies that we are aggressors starting wars, while Department of Defense implies that we will fend off aggressors to maintain peace. I much prefer the latter.
