This was a choice, my family has to evolve and grow in order for it to thrive and part of that is growing away from it with my husband. We still have strong family ties, but I will always choose him.

A marriage bond is chosen whereas a family bond you're born into. Both can be strong as steel but I feel a chosen bond is stronger.

I love my family, but my husband is the relationship I am strengthening more daily, as my family lives in a different state and I don’t see them every day or even every month.

Joining in marriage makes you as one according to God's holy word. Family doesn't make you "one".

When you marry someone you are starting you own family. You need to support each other even if you don't agree. All family is important though. That does not mean you turn your back on them.

Who you marry is a choice. Who gives birth to you isn't.

I was very close to my parent before their death, while my sibling acted as if my parents didn't exist. My husband and his family supported me and I now feel as if they are my only family.

Family are often the first to betray you with the expectation that all will be forgiven because of the shared DNA. When a person gets married, they leave to start their own life without family!
