This was a choice, my family has to evolve and grow in order for it to thrive and part of that is growing away from it with my husband. We still have strong family ties, but I will always choose him.
Reply ReplyI love my family, but my husband is the relationship I am strengthening more daily, as my family lives in a different state and I don’t see them every day or even every month.
Reply ReplyLeave and cleave. Your wife gives up her name, you thank your folks and maintain your own Teepee.
Reply Replythe two of you are bonded in more ways then relatives or friends can ever be and lol you put up with a lot more from each other then anyone else. and yet still love each other
Reply ReplyJoining in marriage makes you as one according to God's holy word. Family doesn't make you "one".
Reply ReplyWhen you marry someone you are starting you own family. You need to support each other even if you don't agree. All family is important though. That does not mean you turn your back on them.
Reply ReplyFamily are often the first to betray you with the expectation that all will be forgiven because of the shared DNA. When a person gets married, they leave to start their own life without family!

I think it could go either way.
ReplyI've just experienced this in my life up until this point in my life..
ReplyMy sister. That's shy my spouse agreed to, and moved with me 400 miles away because she was going there herself.
ReplyEveryone who chose marriage is really crazy, You can't trust your Spouse who do you always run to when you find out your Spouse is cheating? You're family or even your best friend who is like family.
ReplyDespite all the issues I had with my mother while she was alive, she was my mother. My quota for tolerance to ridiculous behavior is higher with blood relatives than anyone I could add to my family.
ReplyMy husband is blind and in denial when my inlaws are disrespectful to me. He is more loyal to blood. So I have to say blood is stronger.
ReplyStrong families bond together
