It's just as easy as putting it in the trash, so there is no good reason not to.

Portland's been doing this for years. It works! I would gladly do this if Prineville would get on board. Good for Bend!

Meat does not compost, nor does fat. Veggies ok.

i don't pay for the yard debris can, so I can't. If the yard debris cans were free, I would.

Already composting food waste with a worm box. Including shredded junk mail and paper. Too efficient to do it yourself!

Food waste goes into the compost bin. Grass clippings are spread on the garden. Other waste is burned to stop disease and pests.

Do you think this suspect should be allowed to keep his dogs as his case unfolds?

Exactly! This awful man should never be allowed to own animals for the rest of his life! Once an abuser, always an abuser. No matter that he is a vet. It doesn't excuse this abusive behavior, especially over tiny dogs!

I don't think he should get his dogs back until a psych eval is done and he's deemed ok to own an animal. I also think that your reporter's continued hounding of him for an interview after he clearly declined was appropriate or professional.
