If this were any other democratic nation in the world there would be no cost for higher education at all in the first place. We are the only free nation that discriminates against people getting a higher education based on wealth.

Agreed, but it goes beyond wealth. Education is an investment in the future of the entire country. Look at most of the other responses here. People who want to destroy the country to protect a bad-haired 80 year old celebrity. Maybe $10K in student loans would have opened their minds

And this will cause more inflation and the taxpayers will pay for it

They spend years paying them off!! It can put a real strain on their budget!

These are some of the people who will probably default on other bills and then want taxpayers to bail them out. They signed the contract to repay their student loan and they should be held accountable.

And the promised to pay it back. They are slackers.

It's not fair to the parents who paid for their children's college educaiton nor to the people who have already paid off their student loans. And it will not improve the economy.

Taxpayers shouldn't be saddled with debts like this. This is totally unfair to all those who paid off their own debts as well as all those who didn't take out student loans.

What is the precedent moving forward? I paid my student loan. Get a job, live within your means, and don't expect the American tax payer to pay your debt. You took the loan out, figure out how to pay it off

Though we should look at why it's so expensive in the first place, prices have skyrocketed. It's totally unreasonable.

No one forced the students to take the loans, and now everyone else has to pay for them? The bigger priority is taking the "Print Money" button away from the Democrats!!!

Absolutely not ! What kind of a message does this send, no need to take responsibility for your actions and just a political ploy to buy votes for midterms. Administration said this would happen right away but waited till now. Just like the inflation bill. Slap in the face to working Americans.

A "loan" is an agreement to repay. I attended as I could afford my college education. I paid my kid's way so they could attend without using loans. If someone can't afford their education, they should wait or pause their education.

I paid back every penny of the student loans that I took out many years ago. Besides, I question the legality of this being a function of the executive branch of our government.

This is an issue that has an effect on every commercial development in the whole city. A gas station is a dinosaur and we don’t need any more! The city needs to support walkability, bikability, and connectivity.

Outdated city codes need to be addressed by the city. This is an example of how older codes are not acceptable to residents now. Why would a city allow polluting gas stations and businesses that greatly increase traffic in the middle of a residential neighborhood & blocks from an elementary school?

The Hearings Officer ignored city code and shifted the burden opposition. This is bad for Bend as developments will no longer have to comply with code and the city and opponents will have hire experts, conduct studies to prove the development doesn't meet code. this will hurt everyone.

Cities are banning new gas stations. Bend is allowing them in neighborhoods? Why doesn't the city of Bend listen to its residents' concerns in this neighborhood, 85% of whom oppose this gas station and have no problems getting gas 1 1/2 miles away? Residents want a grocery, brewpub, daycare.

City pushing an agenda w/o constituents support or input. City pushing it down the throats of the neighborhood directly affected. Take it slow w/appropriate discourse of the public!
