The out of state visitors have brought the pandemic to our doorstep and is causing our community grief, so asking them nicely to leave is not unacceptable.

I understand this is an area where "out if towners" come to work and enjoy the beauty of Central Oregon, but we are trying to slow the spread of a deadly virus. Please stay home, if at all possible.

Heck ya they need to leave!! Especially during a pandemic and especially if they are from a hotspot area (Cali, Texas) it is common courtesy

It's really a shame that we've gotten here, but I do strongly believe that if we put travel restrictions into place here in Bend, we can curb the spread of Coronavirus similar to NYC.

I agree 100% with you we need to put a boundary completely around our state & do not let anybody else in. There's getting too many people infected so far in Central Oregon. We need to stop it now!

It's not just a handful of people visiting. It's thousands of mostly inconsiderate Californians vacationing here, resulting in rising cases and harsher restrictions placed on those that live here.

Freedom of speech, baby. It is ok to graffiti walls, throw rocks, and push and shove in the name of free speech, so why not a quiet, peaceful note.

I understand that Bend is a tourist town, it's a fact of life, I've grown up in this town; right now however is not the time to travel or to visit places out of state unfortunately.

It's absolutely ridiculous how many people from different states are here in Bend Oregon. I get it, this is a beautiful place to visit. But now is not the time. I agree 100% with this guy's notes

That’s totally rude and unnecessary. There’s plenty of reasons why people need to travel or want to. That’s their right as long as they follow safety practices.

Some people are traveling medical workers. Others are essential workers. Some live here, but haven't changed plates yet. Don't assume they are just vacationing.

Why do it, when the people who own the car won't heed the demand anyway. It won't result in the intended end, so why be rude and antisocial for nothing?

These individuals have no right to speak for the city or it's citizens. The city issued a statement about tourism. If you wish to speak for yourself, sign the note with some contact info.

I’m local with CA plates & commute to work for over 9 yrs. Had a bicyclist yell go home while in my own neighborhood - I put a note on my car stating I’m local not on vacation!

It all depends on the situation. They might be here on business which needs to be attended. There might not be enough time to wait for the progression to stop

It's just plain rude and most of these people probably do actually live in Bend. What are visiting people going to do out of town during a pandemic when nothing is open? Not much!

My friend just moved to Bend and hasn't been able to register his car in Oregon because the DMVs were closed. I think it's rude to leave a note like this not knowing the specific situation.

I don’t want visitors here right now. I even told my own family to stay home for now- but the notes are a bit passive aggressive. It seems like they’re more likely to be divisive than helpful.
