I have always done this, and I always see it done this way at every hotel I stay at. Every one I know puts them to the outside, too.

Mom worked @ JCPenneys during my childhood until she became a nurse. In both OUT WAS REQUIRED. Both grandmothers put openings out. I don't pull spread over them and i feel it looks neater that way.

I have memory foam pillows that are covered by a cover that zips closed. I always put my pillowcases to the right, facing outward. I always have done it that way.

There's a health reason for this, and it was in Dear Abby, but I can't remember what it is. But I'm sure Martha Stewart would agree that this way is correct.

ReplyI don't like using pillow cases. As a result I wash my pillows quite often.

ReplyI fold them under the pillow so they don't show, but place the pillow so the ends are both to the inside.
