A good friend of mine got the disease and so did her husband. She recovered at home, but her husband was hospitalized. They are both well now thank goodness.

My dad 93 and stepmother 89 came down with it soon after catching a ride with friends. No one wore masks! So far they seem to be recovering-a miracle-prayers answered.

Unfortunately she died in January 2020 before we knew about COVID-19. She had all the symptoms. I miss her.

My husband and I caught mild cases in July 2020. No lasting effects, except for the friends we lost because of their fear. (We quarantined from the minute I had a few mild symptoms.)

My hubby contracted it and landed in the hospital for a week. His mother died right after she was diagnosed with Covid-19 and lung cancer- while hubby was still in the hospital. My 29 yr-old daughter and her husband got it- they live in my household. Luckily they had more mild cases of it.

Almost all of my friends and several family members have had Covid-19. Several had not symptoms, and few had just a cough, a few had high temps & cough & extremely tired. One friend, with health issues, died at 74. I have not had it despite being in contact with all of them, I do wear a mask.

My brother, my sister in law and their four school age children got it. My brothers father in law got it too which was worrissome for all of us. They got it because my sister in laws teenage sister went to a party and hugged a friend who turned out to be sick. From there it spread like crazy.

Having family members in the medical field, along with both of my daughters who are nurses, the covid19 spread through her entire family. Extremely heartbreaking especially when you can't go to their house and care for them.

My 94-year-old uncle was living in an assisted living facility. They went on lockdown right away in March were very good about taking precautions but one patient got it in June and the residents started falling like dominoes. My uncle died in July.

I have several local acquaintances that have been ill... Almost all live in the same community and were all ill early on....All had travelled to the same area on a tour group about a week before. Most had mild or no symptoms for the two with preexisting cardiac and lung disease both passed away...

My mom died of covid on May 6, when US deaths were in the 60,000s. She loved Christmas. It will be hard to get through. I am angry at the fed govt for failing us. I am having trouble finding compassion for those who lay dying of covid, while they still claim it is a "hoax".

I'm so sorry for your loss. Four years ago I lost my grandmother, she has a stroke on Xmas. I know how hard holidays are without the ones we love. Sending good thoughts your way.

I'm so very sorry for your pain. It also angers me when I read that this horrible disease is not real. I'm assuming they haven't had family members or friends get sick from it. My deepest sympathy to you during the holidays.

I’m sorry for your loss. Sincerely. Let’s not blame anyone for this disease and I think all that could be done has been done. Anger is not helping any of us.

Yes! Just recently my first friend. She was very cautious, too. But she was working at her kids school parttime and shopping for groceries once a week and going to church social distancing wearing a mask. It’s very contagious. Also she has a weakened immune system.

I have two autoimmune diseases and I'm terrified of catching covid. I wear a mask and rarely leave my home. I hope your friend gets well soon

Thank you. I’m certain she is on the road to recovery. She’s young and otherwise healthy. I’m told it’s like having flu and a cold. She’s on meds doing fine.

Nobody we know and nobody in our extended family have gotten the COVID. To put things in perspective, we are in our 70's and "family" stretches from Texas to Ohio to Montana, and all of the West Coast.

Same here. Strange. The media reflects a different reality.

We have occasional gatherings here, which provides an excuse to clean up more thoroughly than otherwise.
