That is why I avoid social media.

Because we are required to do SO many things on-line that request private information. Even just applying for a job, most places ask that you submit your application on-line. Such as ss#, DL# DOB, etc

It concerns me that one website will ‘know’ what I looked at on a different website. If other websites know what I’m doing online, other people likely do too.

We already know the govt conducts mass surveillance. Social media has made our private info into a commodity.

I've worked in and around online security systems for decades, so I am always vigilant regarding my privacy.

I maintain a very small digital footprint. No social media whatsoever.

I'm very much into tech with computer, i-Pad, i-Phone, etc so I certainly worry about privacy, hacking, identity theft, etc. But honestly don't see how the risk can be avoided in today's world.

I dislike that you can find my address online. I dislike that very much and how much my property value is. That’s the bad part. But.......oh well!

I think that we only know a tiny fraction of the ways times we are being 'tracked' during our internet use and searches. Most is undoubtedly related to businesses but still that opens a door to more

Yes. But I don't share anything that I would be upset if the WORLD knew about it.

I control the info I put out there, self-monitoring. I don't have young kids to worry about. I'm sure the usual suspects are collecting data but there isn't much interesting to learn about me.

Your info is already on the dark web, it just hasn't been bought/exploited yet. Take precautions, but worrying never solved any situation.

I do not add info of myself online. If govt info on me is stolen, there is nothing I can do about it and I won't ruin my health dwelling on it. Those who put their lives online will be punished.

I'm not doing anything bad , so why would I? My parents have full right to see what I'm doing, and even strangers wouldn't find anything interesting. Everything I do is harmless and normal.

I wish I did but a good quality emerald is so expensive. Yes, there are "created" emeralds, but unlike diamonds which look great, the created emeralds do not.

To continue my story (this is 3/3), I was very envious when one of my best friends got faux emeralds for her birthday and wore them first. However, I was happy to wear mine anyway. My friends bulled me because I was a "copycat" even tho they all knew I had received mine first. #meangirls!

My parents got me faux emeralds as my first pair of pierced earings and I looked at them in the box until my mom could find the "self-piercing" rings that slowly worked into your ear over a couple of weeks. When I proudly wore my birthstone earings to school my best friends bullied.

My birthstone is Amethyst. I like it. I like the color. But one, I prefer Emeralds. And two, I don't wear jewelry anymore.

No, I have no rubies, and I wept mock tears for my husband's benefit answering this.
