My loved ones who have passed are not in that grave. They are in my heart. That grave only contains the shell that held their souls.
Reply ReplyMy family members have been cremated except my dad and the grave is too far away.
Reply Replyno, the people I mourn are forever with me, I talk to them, I honor them in my everyday life. The graves are for those who grieve differently than I
Reply ReplyI used to, and always decorated, but moved away from my hometown so no longer able to visit. I remember my grandmother calling it Decoration Day.
Reply ReplyI don't because I know the souls of our loved ones were never buried with their earthly shell. However, I can understand why some people do.
Reply ReplyMy loved ones who served didn't die during their service. My husband served 20rs. & my Daddy served in WW ll. I used to visit his grave & put a flag on it, when I lived in the same state.
Reply ReplyI usually do something to mark the occasion but currently live on the opposite side of the country from where most of my family is buried.

To honor the fallen heroes who gave their lives to secure our freedom.
ReplyMy Dad; He Is Very Dear To Me...
ReplyYes; I have infants and a husband whose graves I decorate - out of respect.
ReplyAs painful as it is. I feel it`s my duty.
ReplyThe Jeep Club I belong to places flags on graves of the fallen each year at Bushnell Cemetery in Florida. It is important to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
ReplyThey gave all I can give some. If you have never seen a National Cemetery in full flag bloom you don't know what that feeling of sorrow and pride and every other emotion you can think of is.
ReplyI lost my 20 yo baby brother who was in military service. I’ll never stop missing him or appreciating him.
