WE are both retired on a fixed income; and can't afford to pay others to clean our home. At least we are alive & well.

I don't care to have strangers in my house... Secondly, I would have to clean before they came etc.

I don't want to spend the money to have it done.

If I could afford it, I would love to hire somebody!

We are moving and are having a friend do a thorough clean up of the house and appliances before moving day. As messy (but not dirty) as we are, we should have maids, however we don't want our stuff rearranged. Maybe we will have our friend clean the stove annually, or something, still.

Every two weeks, Carla comes. She needs the money. I not only hate cleaning, but I can't do it anymore. $250 well spent.

Best quality of life splurge: hire a cleaning service for every other week. I still have to pickup and clean some things, but the leg up from having a bi-weekly service buys your life back. And, this is coming from a guy who really likes to clean!!

On rare occasions i have hired a crew to do a thorough job, and may again. But we're not usually overly fastidious and between us and the cats we take care of things OK.

I wish I did but a good quality emerald is so expensive. Yes, there are "created" emeralds, but unlike diamonds which look great, the created emeralds do not.

To continue my story (this is 3/3), I was very envious when one of my best friends got faux emeralds for her birthday and wore them first. However, I was happy to wear mine anyway. My friends bulled me because I was a "copycat" even tho they all knew I had received mine first. #meangirls!

My parents got me faux emeralds as my first pair of pierced earings and I looked at them in the box until my mom could find the "self-piercing" rings that slowly worked into your ear over a couple of weeks. When I proudly wore my birthstone earings to school my best friends bullied.

My birthstone is Amethyst. I like it. I like the color. But one, I prefer Emeralds. And two, I don't wear jewelry anymore.

No, I have no rubies, and I wept mock tears for my husband's benefit answering this.
